Great Established Actors in Great Low-Budget/Indie

Ben Gazzarra is the first guy who comes to mind... He was a star, and turned down a lot of high-paying Hollywood jobs to make great movies with John Cassavetes.. He was the father in "Buffalo '66" and was also in "Dogville" right before he passed...

James Caan and Nicole Kidman too. Love their final scene.

"Is their best really enough?" made a huge impression on me at 10.

She also starred in HEALTH, and maybe a few other Altman.

He was even going to be in Jerry Lewis last movie (which wasn't even released in France) but passed away and was replaced by Mort Sahl at the last minute.... Max Rose
