A dystopian world with 3 Sun

I encountered a film on an art focused tv channel. Here is the plot; on a primitive world, like middle ages, a guy or an archeologist find some artifacts of more developed civilization/society. Religious guys forbid him to talk and work on that issue also they force artists and scientist to give up their work and decicate themself to gods. This theoritical world has 3 or 7 suns, after some time all suns are aligned and solar eclipse shown and religious conservative guys get the message from god by eclipse and destroy and kill all scientist and artists which explain the previous collapse of civilization..
