Free and Legal 50s Movies for the Countdown
Youtube or any other free and legal way to watch movies for the upcoming list. Feel free to post any that you see around various parts of the internet. I know there's a bunch in Public Domain.
Ballad of a Soldier (1959; Grigoriy Chukhray) via Mosfilm The Cranes Are Flying (1957; Mikhail Kalatozov) via Mosfilm Ivan the Terrible, Part I (1945; Sergei Eisenstein) / Ivan the Terrible, Part II (1958; Sergei Eisenstein) via Mosfilm The Flower in Hell (1958; Sang-ok Shin) via Korean Film Archive Madame Freedom (1956; Hyeong-mo Han) via Korean Film Archive I Married A Monster From Outer Space (1958; Gene Fowler Jr.) via The Paramount Vault The Hitch-Hiker (1953; Ida Lupino) Public Domain The Big Combo (1955; Joseph H. Lewis) Public Domain D.O.A. (1950; Rudolph Maté) Public Domain Kansas City Confidential (1952; Phil Karlson) Public Domain |
That's cool because I have the Ivan the Terrible duo on my watchlist.
The Cranes are Flying is excellent. |
Re: Free and Legal 50s Movies for the Countdown
Thanks JJ, I was having a hard time finding The Hitch-Hiker. If I find some free 50s films I'll try to post them here. :)

Re: Free and Legal 50s Movies for the Countdown
Summer with Monika (1953; Ingmar Bergman) via Hulu (free for six more days only.) (also, there's 8 different ad breaks, so that's annoying.)
The River (1951; Jean Renoir) via Hulu (free for six more days only.) |

I found a playlist of 1950s Movies on YouTube. I haven't seen, (or heard of), some of the movies, but I thought some of you might be interested in some of these movies:

Re: Free and Legal 50s Movies for the Countdown
The U.S. Library of Congress has a web site where you can watch free public domain movies. It's called Internet Archives and is a free and legal site. So no worries.
