What is your favorite Trilogy or Saga of all time

What is you Favorite Trilogy or Saga of all time, I have 3, The Back to The Future Trilogy, The Star Wars Trilogy, and The Indiana Jones Trilogy.

Definitely the Indiana Jones Trilogy, or Quadrology, as it is soon to become. Also the Star Wars Trilogy, the Rocky Pentalogy (soon to be Sextalogy) and the Rambo Trilogy (soon to be Quadrology). (I hope the terminology is accurate! ;) )

It's sextet. I've been writing/have written a series that's a sextet, due to the fact that a lot of the jokes are sex related.

2. The Dead-Triology - George A. Romero
3. The Evil Dead Triology

Favorite sextet: Lone Wolf and Cub!

The first two Mad Max movies was fantastic but Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was SO LAME! I have never been that disapointed in a movie.

Saruman 08-07-03 12:07 PM

1) Star Wars
2) Alien
3) Halloween

James2183 08-07-03 06:22 PM

Gotta be Back to the Future as well. You cannot find a more perfect film than the first one.

downgrade88 08-07-03 07:08 PM

1. Terminator Trilogy
2. Back To The Future Trilogy
3. The Lord of the Rings (not done yet, but if the finisher is half as good as the others, this would probably be my favorite)

Monkeypunch 08-08-03 12:25 AM

The Evil Dead Trilogy owns all. Nothing else can touch it. Indiana Jones comes close, only if they don't make a half-assed Indy 4 or a "Special Edition" with CGI effects.

Endless 08-09-03 03:01 AM

In no peticular order....
-The Lord of the Rings (as stated above, not yet finished, but I already know)
-The Matrix (same as above)
-Original Star Wars Trilogy (Probably my fave, because I grew up watching it)
-Terminator Trilogy

Mary Loquacious 08-09-03 03:55 AM

I agree with just about everything mentioned so far. :yup:

Adding in:

Scorsese's Mean Streets, Goodfellas, Casino, and Gangs of New York.

A duet: Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West and Once Upon a Time in New York.

The Godfather trilogy - although if I could forget III, I wouldn't miss the memory.

I'm sensing a theme here. :) I'll break it up with Toy Story and Toy Story II. Ain't exactly a saga, but it's rare that a sequel so perfectly complements and continues on the themes set up in the first movie. Plus, they're smart and funny.

Re: What is your favorite Trilogy or Saga of all time

Although movie Trilogies aren't my cup of tea, the Trilogies that I've enjoyed are Spiderman I and Spiderman II (I refused to see Spiderman III due to what I've read/heard about it), the first two
episodes of Star Wars, and Superman I and Superman II.

Imho, the above-mentioned movies are definitely examples of when the second episode is even more exciting than the first, but then when the film producers have gone beyond that and tried to produce a third/fourth episode, then it gets to be overkill, and the last two episodes turn out to not be as good.

However, another Trilogy that I enjoyed, although I didn't see all of them, was the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Ronnie loves:
- The Dollars Trilogy. C'mon people, the music itself would makes this movie a killer, let alone the shots, the dialogues and the story. My god:eek:

- The Star Wars Saga. I know its a bit odd for a girl to like starwars, thats what ive been told numurous of times, but Star Wars just rocks my world. I actully spend time in my backyard lightsabering my brother because it makes me bloodthirsty:cool:

- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I cant even explain, i shiver everytime it begins, and cry everytime ive finished it. Adore the books, love the movies. And i really cant wait for The Hobbit to be finished, Smaug is just so cool :p
