I'm trying to remember a '70s or '80s movie set entirely at night where the main character is stranded on the side of the road.

If I remember correctly, he's not on the side of the road, but he's stranded in the city the entire night, and he's trying to get home.

It's a good movie. It's worth watching just to find out if it's the right movie. :)
