Cinematic parellels / themes

Anybody got any good examples of where movies borrow similar images from other movies?

For instance the Phantom Carriage / The Shining:

Any others?

The Untouchables recreates the Odessa Steps scene from Battleship Potemkin.

So many references like this in so many films.

One could divide them into two categories:

a) deliberate, like that shot in Zvyagintsev's The Banishment that literally rips off the shot from Tarkovsky's Stalker
b) accidental, like the Almanac of Fall glass shot (here) using the same below-the-glass technique as the rape scene in Female Prisoner Scorpion:

Also Reservoir Dogs is pretty much exactly the same, including some shots, of the Hong Kong film "City on Fire", although if we're being fair pretty much every Tarantino film has "homages" in them.

Here's another neat video. I have not seen the World War II film but based on this, the similarities are striking.

I've been doing a few of these lately:

Persona (1966) v Mullholland Drive (2001)
