Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
As in where you go, and overall interaction across tabs
Not that it goes for everyone, though the forum seems more confined to fewer places, less adventurous. Previously active members seemingly in something resembling retirement mode |
Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
Just to topics that catch my attention. My moods shift often and attentions sail on to different things every few months. So. In a moment? Sure. Right now it's the intermission stuff. I'll swing to reviews at some point once something bashes me over the head.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
Also weirdly related... When I first came on this site I think I asked some question about the Shoutbox (like what it was or how was it different from the rest of the forums)...
To the best of my memory someone responded with a joke (at least I think it was a joke... but don't remember the context...) they said something like "Never go on the Shoutbox!" Even though I think it was said in complete jest, it got implanted in my subconscious! And although I have visited the Shoutbox, I tend to avoid it because whenever I see it in the menu, I still remember the words in some part of my brain, "Never go on the Shoutbox!" ;) |

yes

Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
I try to visit everywhere, but visit some far less than others.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
I haven't been able to watch movies much, and I can't comment on things I haven't seen. My link to this site is the "NEW POSTS", and after I click that, I'll check my Mentions.
|
Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
Yeah, I check:
1) notifications. 2) New Posts. New Posts shows everything, even stuff posted from movie pages, so it gives me a good overview. I think/expect most people use the site that way, but I'd be curious to know for sure. |
Haven't been posting or watching as much in the last year so I've been visiting and posting in less threads.

— I check the notifications and New Posts button. I’m trying to pay more close attention to the Reviews up there. |
Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
I'm mostly hanging out in the hidden porn tab these days.
|
I've never used New Posts or the list of subscribed threads. I'm on mobile most of the time and neither are on the default forums view so I always forget they exist. I usually go by top thread post date. If the most current post was 5 hours ago then I assume nothing new has been posted in that forum since my last viewing else that post would show on the main page. if it's 20 minutes old then it's possible I missed something so I open that forum category to check.
I guess that's all sorta off topic and more a clarification of how I approach this site. |
Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
I prefer to print hardcopies of any threads that interest me each day so I can read them later at my leisure when I'm on the crapper. I do find those threads via the New Posts facility.

Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
I stick mostly to 'General Movie Discussion' and 'Miscellaneous' when I'm around

Re: Do You Consider Yourself Set In Your Ways On The Forum
I’m still rather new here so I’m all over the place looking at what ever gets my attention. Lately, I have been spending time in the HOF sections and the general movie section
|
I usually check my Notifications first for any Mentions and PMs.
Then I click on "New Posts" and I start at the top of the list, and work my way through all the threads that have been updated since the last time I was online. |

Not just in the forums. I'm a creature of habit and I honestly can't be sure what the last film I saw was. Or when.

Good conversation is lacking these days, IMO. I've noticed an overall decline in people interacting. It's like people will still post, but they don't post to each other much anymore.
I always click New Post and also look at my mentions. Occasionally I'll look at my Subscribed Threads. I'm guilty of this. I don't get much time on here, usually limited to lunchtime in work and a sneaky peek now and then. It'll be my new years resolution to be more active with others on here. Not on the outside world though, just here. |

Unfortunately work just gets in the way of my Mofo time. ;) |
