What was the last DVD you bought and why?
i saw this on another message board so i thought i would bring it here.
the last DVDs i bought was The Exorcist:the version you've never seen because i wanted to see the exorcist again . also Chappelle's show season 1 because its really funny and i havent seen season 1 in a while http://www.crankycritic.com/archive0...s/exorcist.jpg http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...44/6244432.jpg |
Citizen Kane Special Edition cause it was a great movie i loved it.
|
Hmm...I think it was Helter Skelter. I bought it because I really liked the new one that came on TV and I wanted to check out the old one too.
|
yup
The last two I bought were Family Guy, season 3 and Pulp Fiction. To tell you the truth, I never saw Pulp Fiction when I bought it and man, I wasn't dissapointed at all. I thought it was a great movie. And most movies I see, I don't call them great movies. It was provocative, clever, original, witty, interesting and it had real passion in it. I'd recommend the movie to most anyone and If you haven't seen it, you should. You'll enjoy it immensely from start to finish.
|
|
The Untouchables. :)
|
The last movie I bought was 5.99 new at Blockbuster (so I was taking a chance on this one). It was called Dog Soldiers, and I actually enjoyed it. It was a British mix of Predator and the Howling. I would recommend atleast checking it out. I liked it and I'm not even a huge horror fan.
|
Reservoir dogs because i love that movie. besides pulp fiction its tarantinos best movie
http://www.dng.idv.tw/dvdreviews/200...rvoir_dogs.jpg |
Bubba Ho-Tep ... because Bruce Campbell kicks ass and it's the best Elvis based movie around.
|
Underworld
Because I honestly beleive this is one of the greatest action/thriller movies ever made...you'd think it'd be pure gore because of the subject of Vampires and Werewolves, but they prove you wrong. The feeling is great as you watch it. The color of the movie is dark and goes well with the title and the overall feeling. |
Underworld was great which one you get? Extended Cut? I think Kate Beckinsale is really hot got a poster of her in Van Helsing off ebay. SeXy Purp Lips. Van helsing was ok too. But i liked Underworld Better
|
i still havent seen underworld. i will be sure to rent it now.
|
I bought "The Gift" just yesterday. I always enjoyed that one and it was kinda cheap.
|
The Last Samurai, its awesome
|
For a Few Dollars More. I bought this to complete my Dollars Trilogy.
But just before that I bought the Alien Quadrilogy. The best DVD box set ever! I got it for £40, it had been reduced from £70! |
Dog Soldiers is friggin awesome, best werewolf movie ever, possibly]
My last was Maniac Cop (but i dont have it yet as some1 else has it  ) BRUCE BRUCE BRUCE |
i just bought donnie darko coz my friend got fed up with me borrowing it.
|
Once Upon a Time in the West - Special Edition
...because it's one of the best westerns ever made. |

I bought The Graduate today because it was on sale for $9.99.
|
You know what? I just bought 6 more DVDs today and that makes 10 in the last 4 days. And already I have my eye on about 8 more. I think I had better watch myself or I'm going to need therapy.
Anyways here they are: Braveheart $15.00 (I never saw it yet but I'm trusting the judgement of the majority). U-571 $15.00 Scary Movie 2 $7.50 Matchstick Men $7.50 40 days and 40 nights $7.50 Whipped $6.99 |
LOTR: ROTK ... and you want to know why??? Have you read my sig? It was a deeply ingrained compulsion... :p

Love Actually... because I think it's a sweet film... despite the bad "press" it's getting in here in a different thread.
|
Open Range: To see what the fuss was about. Very good film, and could reignite Costner's Career as a director.
X-Men 2: Loved the first film so I wanted to get this. Fun to watch but slower paced than X1. Resident Evil: Again to see what the fuss wa about, and again a very good film. Loved the red dress, leather jacket and tall boots look :p |
Just got the 5 Disc Godfather DVD Collection well worth it. I got it off eBay for $40. :)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg |
|
Last movie I bought was American Splendor, because I was smart and waited for it to go to 6.99 previously viewed on dvd. Tough choice between renting some stupid movie or buying a great movie.
I have gone pretty lax on my dvd buying days, I was up to a point where I was buying 3-4 dvds a week, and my dvd collection grew to about 400 from 100 in a couple months. Now I dont really find anything I really care to own unless I find a new Criterion Collection DVD at a store. |
American Splendor was pretty good. Get your Theater System yet Tolstoy? I rent my movies before i buy'em. If its good enough to buy i'll buy it. But before i use to buy 1 new release a week i had like 100 dvds. i sold the ones i didnt want on eBay got good prices now i have like 30 dvds. the last dvd i bought was the Godfather. The NExt One i want to buy is Dead Like me. I rented the some kind of dvd. well the only episode i saw was the exploit. it was funny. Thx to Jrs i would have never probably heard of it.
|

im usually a classic guy but i did enjoy the remake a little more. but the original did have a great blend of action, horror and comedy. it was a little more lighthearted than the remake. but i did enjoy both of them alot.

HellBoy, well kinda, as soon as i got money in the bank it sold out on the site, but i ordered it as it isnt out in UK cineams yet.
It will be the same with The Punisher and Bubba Ho-Tep, mind you i'll still end up seeing them in the cinema |
Felt it was about time i got this, and the reason i went out and got it was that i was watching Leon: The Professional and thought i needed another movie with Gary Oldman in it.
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg This cause it is just the good wholesome whakiness i love. http://216.218.203.229/news4/InvaderZim_V2.jpg |

Last DVD I bought was the El Mariachi trilogy.
Why? It had been priced up wrongly (much less than half price ;) ) |
"The Passion of the Christ" is the last one I bought. Why? Because it is "The Passion of the Christ".
|
Near Dark, I don't own it, and it's a quality Zombie flick.
|
im planning on getting Gangs of New York soon, but it cost too much for me.

Finally bought the Scorsese Collection... something I should have done a long time ago but didn't because I try to avoid having to order things by mail or internet. So... it should be here in a few days. I hope.
