Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
Just watched There Will Be Blood
 Wow what a masterfull work ... visually stunning with vast sweeping vistas to intense closeups ... and the sound, merging in and out of silence (farout the beginning of the film had no spoken word for such an elongated period) ... and the characters, fleshed and wonderfully tainted. Didn't expect it to end as it did. Very much a movie to see again ... in fact I am altering my Top 10 :D |
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
Might as well reply to my own thread lol
Anyway, i watched three episodes of Father Ted yesterday evening, hilarious, i havn't laughed so hard since i watched those Airplane! movies back in late December-early January! Father Jack - "FECK OF CUP!!!" |

I just watched Transformers (2007) a few hours ago. Fantastic movie.
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I just watched Rain Man. Pretty good movie, it was simple but smart and dramatic. It's Thelma and Louise meets Forest Gump.
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
That may be a decent comment, even if it's backwards since Rain Man came before the other two. :)

Fight Club
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I watched Black Xmas and was really happy with at all, it was very predictable and followed the same themes as the other horror/thriller for teens. As its a remake you can see the 80's movie ressembelances.
Its not really worth a watch but if your bored you could use the disk as a frizby or come up with fun new ideas for it. 1/5 |

Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
Lately I've been watching 24 on DVD. I'm getting the DVD's free from the library!
I couldn't watch it while it was being broadcast. I think the storyline was too information loaded and the schedule kept jumping. I often like things better in a DVD boxed set. You see the continuity better or the lack of it. I'm nearly done with season six. I don't know what I'll watch after this. |
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I watched Childred of Men last week. The concept has great potential, but the movie could have been better. The acting is decent enough.
The bonus is very minimum, only 1 actually. Discussing about the technique to take certain scenes. |
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
Three cheers for getting free DVDs from the library!
I just finished watching the 14 Sharpe episodes. Can't afford them, so I rent them from the library. If you haven't seen Sharpe, it's an iTV show (Britian) from the 90s starring Sean Bean as a Sharpe, a handsome dashing hero during the Napoleonic war. He's smarter than everyone else and of course, braver. He's also a good swordsman, a great shot, and a hit with the ladies. ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i56/sharpe.jpg |
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I saw Never Back Down... Awesome movie.

Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I watched See No Evil last night and personally I think it should be called See No Good Acting or See No Good Story or See No Good Directing. It was appallingly bad honustly I thought it was going to be good from the trailers but Jesus it was soo bad ill never be watching it again full stop.
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?

Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I watched "Licence to wed" and thought it was a really good funny film.

Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I KNOW! It could have been a pretty cool story but the lead was sleep walking, the writing failed and the "stripping" sucked.

I watched "Eastern Promises" last night I found it very good and I did enjoy it. I found that it was allot better than "A history of Violence" as they are both done by the same director.
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I Watched American Psycho For The First Time Tonight And I'm Probably Adding It Somewhere In My Top 25.
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
American Psycho is a great film.
Last night I watched Die Hard 4.0 and thought it was a awsome film and the scene where the car comes flying through the air and crashes into the two on coming cars is fantastic. Also I thought the freerunner Cyril Raffaelli from District 13 made a flawless performance. |

Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
Just watched For Your Height Only for the first time. I loved it. It was exactly what I thought it'd be and just what I wanted. With the exception of gratuitous nudity, it really couldn't have been better. :D
|
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?
I thought nudity was mandatory these days?
Um, anyway, I watched Be Kind Rewind most recently. |
Re: What Is The Last DVD You WATCHED?

Personally I prefer it to both Kill Bill films as well as thinking that it was superior to Planet Terror. I really love 'exploitation' films, especially those of the mid-70's to early 80's, and thought that Tarantino's effort was far more authentic than Rodriguez's as well as being better. |
