Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
I've been looking to find [REC] myself, I should break down and just starting ordering off Amazon someday.
Depends on what type of "good" you're looking for.... Zombie Strippers is campy, cheesy, good fun but not a "good movie" Automation Transfusion has it's moments Dead Alive is also good fun Zombi by Fulci also great The genre has had a bit of a let down with it's recent stuff though. |

Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
Try Bio-Zombie too. Great zombie movie.

Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
I am curious as to why people keep referring to [REC] and Quarantine as Zombie films. Those films have nothing to do with Zombies.
WARNING: "[REC] and Quarantine" spoilers below
Having Rabies does not make a person a zombie.

Oh God, don't start the whole 28 Days Later debate again. Please Sedai, I'm beggin' ya.

Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
These are not only my top 5 recommendations, these are the only zombies films (along with the original Night Of The Living Dead) that I like. I am very picky with horror films, & the zombie genre has really evolved into something that usually just doesn't hold any real appeal for me.
5. [rec] - I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion on this one. Take what Cloverfield took from The Blair Witch Project, add a dash of 28 Days Later, and then sprinkle on some sub-titles (depending on what version you watch), & there you go. A quality zombie flick of which I rarely get to see without a giant glob of gooey camp splattered all over it. Definitely worth a looksee for anyone who is generally not a fan of the standard walking undead stuff. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...ghtycele-1.jpg 4. Shaun Of The Dead - The zom-com finally crystalizes itself with this entry, a film shlockful of ghouls & gags. And if you like Second Coming by the Stone Roses, then this is the zombie flick for you. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...0b81193997.jpg 3. 28 Days Later - Finally, some scaring looking zombies that actually stand a chance of catching up to your screaming ass when you flee in crazed fear, hopelessly howling for your mummy. That one aspect of this movie would've been enough to put 28 Days Later to the number one spot on my list, if only it's second half hadn't veered so far away from the rabid zombies theme & too deep into the whole "the military being the enemy" angle. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...a211193997.jpg 2. Dead Set - I just recently saw this (as the 3+ hour compilation movie, not the 30 minute series installments), & if you like [rec] and if you're tired of those annoying reality "stars", like the housemates of Britain's "Big Bruvver" (or if you're just tired of British people in general), then this is the zombie flick for you. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...er_Photo-6.jpg 1. Planet Terror - While the shlock that comes with most zombie flicks usually puts me off, Robert Rodriguez's style of depicting his half of The Grindhouse as a caricature of a genre that has already gone cartoonishly over the top, makes this a walking undead gore-a-rama that I could not only stomach, but enjoy as well. Coupled with a modern sense of violence that we've all mindlessly grown to love, it's a zombie action flick of an energetic quality that sparked some life into my usually dead reaction to most shambling corpse fare. So, if you're into chicks with guns, zombie apocalypeses & amputees (& let's be honest.... who isn't?), then this is the zombie flick for you. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...e_pt_003-1.jpg |
Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
There's this new book called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies -- I haven't read it, but it should make an interesting movie if they ever decide to make it.

Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
Zombies have to be dead, right? Like, you know, the living dead and stuff? [REC] and Quarantine aren't zombie films. They just aren't.

Re: ZOMBIE MOVIE - recomendations
Omega Man is actually my first Zombie movie I have ever seen. It's the original of "I Am Legend". Give that a watch, neurally entertaining.
