There is a boy in the garden and/or kitchen washing himself out of a bucket (FFN) and he calls to his (I assume) little brother to wash up. The little boy drops his towel, faints, has a fever and is quite sick.

In the other scene a woman is asking the older boy why the bucket is in the kitchen. He replies that he washes up when he can.
