http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413252189 25 SCARY MOVIES to WATCH during the month of OCTOBER (or anytime, really) in celebration of HALLOWEEN ... in no particular damn order. Inspired by Rodent's Halloween Movies thread. http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413252603 |

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413252906 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413252972 HALLOWEEN II Directed by Rick Rosenthal Released in 1981 Plot: While Sheriff Brackett and Dr. Loomis hunt for Michael Myers, a traumatized Laurie is rushed to hospital, and the serial killer is not far behind her. Why You Should Watch It: It may not be a great movie, but this is classic October/Halloween material. This is one of the first Halloween movies I saw because it was always on cable TV around this time. I'd never see the first film on TV anywhere, but this always was. The film continues on the same Halloween night as the first movie. The body count is bigger. This is a pure slasher film. Michael Myers stalks a darkened hospital. Not many people are in it, for some reason, except those unfortunate souls he winds up slaughtering. He's trying to find Laurie Strode, the girl who got away from him in the first movie. And there's a major secret about her that will be revealed. For Michael and Laurie have a connection to each other that nobody had known about..... http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413253120 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413253233 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413253306 |

Halloween II has a great ending. I hate the brother/sister thing though.

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254072 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254131 PRINCE OF DARKNESS Directed by John Carpenter Released in 1987 Plot: A research team finds a mysterious cylinder in a deserted church. If opened, it could mean the end of the world. Why You Should Watch It: Well, I haven't watched it in years, but I wanna watch it again. I avoided this movie because I thought it was actually really scary, unlike a lot of other stuff. There's a guy who's covered in insects standing in the dark of night and he speaks in a gravelly, robotic-like voice warning the others that they should "pray for death" because what he has in store for them is much worse than death. Then his head falls off his body. http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254356 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254402 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254468 |

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254709 A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS Directed by Chuck Russell Released in 1987 Plot: Survivors of undead serial killer Freddy Krueger - who stalks his victims in their dreams - learn to take control of their own dreams in order to fight back. Why You Should Watch It: Why not? http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254836 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254870 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413254907 |

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413255252 TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION Directed by Kim Henkel Released in 1994 Plot: A group of teenagers get into a car crash in the Texas woods on prom night, and then wander into an old farmhouse that is home to Leatherface and his insane family of cannibalistic psychopaths. Why You Should Watch It: Matthew McConaughey stars in it. Like, he's ONE OF THE LEAD STARS. The other one, believe it or not, is Renee Zellweger, but big deal. Matthew McConaughey's in it. He plays a psycho member of Leatherface's family. He's got a f**ked up leg thing/mechanical leg brace. Just watch it. Matthew McConaughey. Stupid movie, but Matthew McConaughey. Also, Leatherface is more of a drag queen this time. http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413255504 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413255569 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413255704 Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd) did a video of that for this year's October "Monster Madness". You should watch it.

Why You Should Watch It: The question is why am I putting this on my list? http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413256441 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413256482 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413256549 |

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413258062 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413257983 THE HUNGER Directed by Tony Scott Released in 1983 Plot: Miriam, a centuries-old vampire, preys on urban clubgoers with her vampire lover John. When John suddenly ages and wastes away, Miriam casts her spell upon Sarah, a doctor who researches premature aging. This neo-Gothic exercise in style and atmosphere is perhaps most widely known for a lesbian sex scene involving Miriam and Sarah, played by Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon. (written by Marty Cassady) Why You Should Watch It: Vampires. And, according to IMDB plot author Marty Cassady, the lesbian sex scene. http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413258311 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413322783 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413322857 I am so bored with this now. If anyone else wants to finish my list for me, they can. I am never starting another list. |

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413349613 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413349658 LEPRECHAUN Directed by Mark Jones Released in 1993 Plot: An evil, sadistic Leprechaun goes on a killing rampage in search of his beloved pot of gold. Why You Should Watch It: I repeat: An evil, sadistic Leprechaun goes on a killing rampage in search of his beloved pot of gold. Also because it's the first of these movies and Jennifer Aniston is the star. And because Warwick Davis is hysterical as the Leprechaun. http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413349821 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413349876 http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1413349914 This isn't my favorite of the Leprechaun movies, but as a Halloween recommendation to everybody, I recommend the first film, especially since Jennifer Aniston is in it. |
