Help finding a movie about space and aliens
 

Hey guys
There was this movie that i saw when i was a child (before 2000). I want to find it again but I have no idea how. Can you help me?
The only things that I can remember are:

1. It happens in space and othet planets

2. A guy from earth is the hero and different aliens species, he fights some of them to save other ones
3. It had starfighter battles (one person space jets pursuing each other and fighting)
4. There was a bald alien hero (not the main hero)
5. The swords they used to fight was special. Just like Star Wars they pushed a button and the sword appeared but it was not laser, it was metal
6. Probably a star wars rip-off
