Hot Fuzz

Sounds good. These guys know what they're doing, so I hope this turns out as well as Shaun of the Dead did.

Richard Hell 01-03-05 11:04 PM

So its taking place after the events of Shaun of the Dead?

Nitzer 01-03-05 11:14 PM

Plot Outline: An action/cop genre movie in the vein of Shaun of the Dead.

Richard Hell 01-03-05 11:20 PM

O' I see it sounds cool. I really liked Shaun of Dead.

Pyro Tramp 01-04-05 02:07 PM

Apparently Lou and Andy of Little Britain are to appear in this

Hopefully they won't sell out and keep the same low key charm of Spaced. Either way, should be good. Here's hoping...

I am also looking forward to this Pegg writing and Coogan starring...it should be good.

CHUD.com summarises it thusly in their review:

The movie, in many ways, is Agatha Christie getting triumphantly butt****ed by Michael Bay... With jokes.
They also say it's as good as Shaun.

Hooray for character-led violently parochial action comedy parody homages, that's what i say :)

This film looks absolutely great. I don't think its gonna sell out ...thats a ridiculous statement. But seein Simon Pegg again will be hysterical!!! :D

Dying to see this. Shaun of the Dead is one of my all time favourite comedy flicks, and this looks hilarious judging from the trailers.

Yoda 02-13-07 08:35 PM

I'll just echo Monkeypunch; loved Shaun of the Dead, greatly looking forward to this. Can't think of much else to say. Guess we'll all just wait for it to come out, and then gush some more. :D

I'm gonne be gushing all he way home tonight (So to speak) as i'm seeing it after work. Walked through Leicster Square last night and caught Simon Pegg and Nick Frost pulling up for the premier. They had a police escort. Looked pretty mental. And Tim Dalton is looking old!

Kick arse! That's wicked Blib!

Hot Fuzz definitely best film the year so far.

The Taxi Driver 02-15-07 03:58 PM

Im a huge Shaun of the Dead and Spaced fan I can't wait till I get a chance to see it Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg have a great sense of humor and make future comedy classics

Nexus 02-17-07 11:08 AM

Just saw it, it's great. But it's not really a homage to action movies, like Shaun of the Dead was a homage to zombie films (the latter was so spot-on it truly resembled a Romero film but set in Britain and with more humour). I'd say it's more like Spaced: The Movie but crazier. It's got the obligatory Shining reference that they always had on their show, in addition to references to classic 70s horror like The Wicker Man and The Omen. All the explosive stuff we've seen in trailers actually only occurs in the last 30 minutes of the film. Hot Fuzz is closer to the 70s cop dramas like Serpico and Dirty Harry ("Fascist!") than actual 80s action flicks. The film is really a blending of a variety of different genres and styles, including horror (obviously, the team are big on horror movies) and, in one point, a Western. It's utter lunacy, actually. Perhaps the maddest movie of the year.
