The 2016 Mofies - THE CEREMONY!
Hello everyone! It's finally here!
Obviously, with this celebrating 2016, the two main things that happened regarded politics, and the Olympics. But since the former was a sh!tstorm for nearly everyone, we'll largely look at the the Olympics instead, and hopefully it'll be as memorable and vibrant as the vile green pool! But with the pound and dollar not doing well, and me being a student, we couldn't book a luxurious venue like the Chateau Marmont. So we had to settle for the prison used for one of the survivor games earlier in the year! However, the event is already in jeopardy. Rumours are already circulating regarding the appearance of certain nominees. One of the hosts, CiCi Bluth, took pre-drinks a bit too seriously, and risks running late in getting ready for the red carpet. Around half an hour ago, she left her webcam on, and the effects of too many tequila slammers were... apparent. This will also mark the return of CiCi's campervan in a special edition, featuring the current President, CosmicRunaway, and how she feels about the current race as well, so lots to stay tuned for! Think i may have voted for Godoggo but i can't remember. RIP Deadite of course but i don't think he should be nominated every year, it's kind of a depressing callback. Godoggo came back briefly but i really miss when she was active, Omni left like two months ago (and he still posts from time to time like today) and Slob was banned so i don't really understand them being included, Hit Girl is a great choice though don't think she has ever been that active but she is a really good member.

Of the people that were nominated Godog was the one I had the most interaction with and the most positive interaction. I really wish she'd come back around and stick around.

I refused to vote for Gunslinger this time for that "Stranded on an Island" category.
I've been on that island with Gunslinger for too long now. While it's not bad, I needed to find new company. |
This year has seen a surge of new members join, some for a short while, other more permanently. Each one of them contributed something though, even if it was controversy like with Leviticus, or using us to answer questions for their homework like so many throaway accounts. Anyway, a select few genuinely made themselves established around the forum, and have already established themselves as memorable, and unforgettable members. This ceremony seems really small and uneventful compared to the past ones. Right now, at least. It should have been done on a Saturday or Sunday. Probably Sunday.

There are god knows how many threads created each day on MoFo, so it's safe to say that not all of them are going to be quite as good as the rest. Nah, seriously though i think she is a great member and i voted for her. I remember having a random conversation with her about The Lives of Others after i just watched it which was really interesting. Then she ended up my right-hand Woman (right hand because apparently she's actually left-handed from earlier discussions which disgusts me and i know she feels the same :p) in the TV Tournament then she became known to both the movie-geeks (like me) by joining and being a great participant in the Hall of Fames and the non-movie geeks (like me again and SC) by joining and being a great participant in the Survivors including winning one, like me again :cool:. What i'm trying to say is she is the next generation me except she's much nicer and she is often accused of being a Suspect alt because she is Canadian which is suspect (no pun intended) to me since i'm not sure if Canada actually exists or not. Great member with suspect origins :up: |

Sorry, i had to do something then when i came back i made that Cosmic post. The Donald Trump For President thread had quite a few laughs and genuine insights from both sides which made me hesitate to nominate it but yeah over all and especially now it is horrible and old. Not that there should be a new one because it will be the exact same but whatever.

I voted Fifties but i'd honestly be happy if JayDee's thread one because it is an origial idea and a great read. Glad the Docs Countdown was nominated as well Harry deserves more praise for hosting a second Countdown and it turning out really great. Not sure what the other one is doing there, it's pretty funny at times but it is really not different from the Donald Trump thread which just won worst thread.

I voted for that "Election News and Predictions" thread because that was basically the thread where we all watched who won the US election on November 8th and everyone got depressed (except me) over Trump winning.

The hosts did a good job, but last year's countdowns just weren't that interesting to me because of their subjects.
