They aren't closing the doors, but due in no small part to the backlash against Brie Larsen and her upcoming film Captain Marvel regarding her comments earlier this month, RT is revamping their site once again.

It's overdue. Audience scores are increasingly weaponized as cultural war proxies, rendering them useless.

I've given up on using them to help decide which films to watch these days. I just listen to the chatter by MoFos I tend to share similar taste with, and go by word of mouth here in the real. I still like a handful of critics, so I will take a gander at their reviews from time to time to get an idea whether or not something is complete crap or not, but I try to avoid as many details about the film as possible until I actually see it.
