Movie Soundtrack Song Tournament

http://www.movieforums.com/community...1&d=1406425224

Yes. Movie Soundtrack Song Tournament.

RULE #1:

To feature a wide variety of music from different movies...

You can only nominate ONE SONG per movie.

If someone else has nominated a song already from a movie, and you haven't nominated any songs from that movie, you can nominate a different song from that movie.

RULE #2:

You can nominate anything as long as it's on a movie soundtrack.

You can nominate selections from a score (instrumental pieces).

RULE #3:

This won't be strongly enforced, but keep in mind that some MoFos -- such as Cricket -- think you should only nominate songs that were specifically made for the movie. Or songs that are strongly associated with that movie. This won't be strongly enforced, but Rule #3 is about keeping this in mind.

RULE #4:

You must post the link to the song sort of like this:

Annie -- Tomorrow -- Annie

First put the name of the artist singing it, then the title of the song, then the TITLE OF THE MOVIE from whence the song is featured on the soundtrack.

When you're adding links, replace "www" with "m" in the "http://www.youtube" link because if you don't then an obnoxious Youtube embed is gonna appear in the post and it won't look like a link, which is what I want.

RULE #5:

This will hopefully be a 128 song Song Tournament.

I'm looking for 16 people to nominate 8 songs.

If I don't get 16 people, some or all of you will be allowed to nominate more songs. If it's some of you, I will use a randomizer thing to randomly draw the special people who will nominate more.

NOMINATE AWAY!

Nobody answered my question from the other thread:

Does the song nominated have to be the actual version that was in the movie, or could it be any version of a movie song?

For example, someone nominated a unique version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in the last tournament. That's a song that was written for "The Wizard of Oz", but that version of the song was not in the movie. Would that version be allowed?

(I like that version, but I'm not planning to nominate it. I'm just using it as an example.)

RULE #6:

The version of the song must be one associated with the actual movie (plays in the movie, is on the soundtrack, etc.) Not another version.

I can't tell you guys how infuriating it was to compile all those links using the computer at my shop...It's a Mac from 2005 that runs Leopard OS 10.6...

I know what you mean. I still use an old PC running Windows XP as my main computer, but I can't watch YouTube videos on it because the videos load too slow. I usually have to switch to hubby's Windows 8 system for this site.

SWAN. You have 13 songs. I need you to tell me which one you'll eliminate. You can only have 12 right now.

Swan 07-27-14 12:32 PM

Re: Movie Soundtrack Song Tournament

Oh my bad. Sorry about that. You can get rid of the Conversation theme.

Sexy Celebrity 07-27-14 01:40 PM

HIT GIRL

There's been some discussion and now two of your songs:

Beatles - Twist and Shout (Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising (An American Werewolf in London)

Have been disqualified because they're currently in the last rounds of Song Tournament 8 and have a good chance of winning that.

Would you please nominate TWO REPLACEMENT SONGS for those

and then

Nominate FOUR MORE SONGS.

If you want to, you can just write down the songs and the movie and I'll look them up on Youtube for you.

Sexy Celebrity 07-27-14 01:41 PM
