Anyway, n3wt, it sure is a big collection though pretty weak (no offence). It's pretty much entirely compromised of Western mainstream offerings and has almost no diversity or range. I don't even particularly remembering seeing any 'classics' and about one foreign language film. And for that i'd rate it quite low as it doesn't really illustrate a movie fans collection, just someone spoon-fed multiplex offerings.

As an aside, there's a great website (well, used to be before the re-designed it) called www.dvdaf.com i believe. A lot of members use it and it's a great way to catalogue your DVDs. My collection is linked there in my sig.

Cheers for you view its true that there allot of western mainstream movies as it is what I enjoy and watch on a regular basis. I have allot of movies on video that I havent repaced to DVD yet such as western's with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Im not going to add them to the list as it would go on forvever. I also havent replaced my Arnie collection which consists of, True Lies, Commando etc.

I find mysef as a massive movie fan as I appriciate every aspect of movies, like Directing, Producing and ofcourse Story not to mention the choice of actors. For instance I really dislike Will Farel but I have at least two of his movies as I enjoy the movie.

My DVD collection is a work in progress as there are hundreds of movies that I love that arent in it yet.

Obviously i mean it as constructive criticism, since you did put your list out there for comment. I could think of plenty of films i wouldn't mind recommending that would probably suit your tastes and be actually good and made with affection, not for pure commercial profit as many of yours are. You say you appreciate the different facets of film making but the majority of your films don't really highlight the talent out there.

Came of slightly better going through it in detail however you do have some of my all-time most hated movies lol. Ones i haven't marked all are ok or i haven't seen. Got quite a lot of similar titles, still think you need to some World Cinema in there.

Mmm, the new format is a bit annoying, mainly because now you can only add one movie at a time. There should be a search box towards the top, you type the movie (has to be very accurate) assuming that's the term you want to use to search with (not actor, director etc), find the right version, tick the box then 'move to collection' at the top.

The Blackadder Collection is a superb gift. It's one of those things that I keep meaning to buy myself, but just never get around to it. Maybe because they're on tv so often that I can justify buying something else? Who knows.

I've loved looking at what others think of your list N3wt, I might do the same sometime. Although, a quick glance tells me that I'll not have seen a good many of them.

The Blackadder complete collection is £35 on play.com but ive seen it in Tesco for £30, which is well worth it as you get series 1-4 plus the christmas carol and Blackadder back ad fourth. Its a real sweet boxset also...

The one's in red are the one's he's not going to/has already seen, n3wt. And, for the record, Silence Of The Lambs is not awesome. It's ok, but not awesome. It's a bit like Good Morning, Vietnam, in as much as you think it's really good, but actually, it's just the Robin Williams dj bits that are good, the rest is pretty crap. SotL isn't as bad as that, but it's the scenes with Lector and Starling that really work, the rest is fairly ordinary.

Firstly I was adding my opinions to the guy about the films in red, I dont know if he has seen them or not but I think he should at least give them a go if he hasnt seen them.

Secondly to say Silence Of The Lambs is "OK and Ordinary" is absoulute madness it is a classic and it is a great movie. I think you should sit down and put up your top 10 movies so we can see what floats your boat.

My mum-in-law had two copys of Season one of Pushing Daisy's so I bought one of them off her. I remember hearing something about it when it was on tv a while back but I didnt watch it. From what ive heared and read it sounds great.

It does sound like a good laugh, Ill post up what I think of it when weve watched afew episodes.

Asda is great for cheap DVD's I pick afew up whenever we go, you can get some great movies from there.

But to get the best selection of movie's you definatly need to go to a bigger store.

Also Pushing Dasies we really enjoyed the first series and are going to watch it again soon. Were looking forward to May as the 2nd series is coming out to buy.

On the subject of DVDs Ive just bought Dead Like Me series One and Two for £17.99 each. I havent added them to the list as they havent arrived yet ;)

I always thought Zavvi was great, you can get 5 DVD's for £30 with a fair bit of good films. I came out of there before with some good films and the best thing was there was a few boxsets included, for £30, I had 12 or more films, not bad at all.

I didn't like Girl Interuppted. I also heard, that the person the film was based on, was very very unhappy with it, as it raped her life story(or something along those lines.)

I've not seen it N3wt and the reason I've not seen it is because there's no way there's a great film starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. :p

I love the original Bodysnatchers film though. Not much of a fan of the other two remakes I've seen.

Not a big fan of Craig or Bond, I'm afraid. Craig's a good actor, but I find he has almost zero screen presence and, unless it's Roger Moore, it ain't Bond for me. I can't take Bond seriously so, unless it's gimmicky and camp, I'm not buying it. I think Goldeneye was the most recent Bond I've seen. I quite liked The Bourne Identity though, (or "American Bond" as I call it) so I'm not adverse to seeing the new Bond films. It's just that I'm not had a reason to yet.

I'm not a fan of American Dad, n3wt (but I love Family Guy), but Candyman is a trip. I have the whole series on DVD, whether there's three of 'em or four (I forget). The original is by far the best, I think.

Totally agree I love the first installment of The Candyman series is awesome, I picked it up as it was £2 in ASDA where I went to get American Dad so another of my VHS have been upgraded lol

I love Family Guy and American Dad but I have had this debate loads in the past I think American Dad is better :yup: but both shows are amazing :up: They are the type of DVDs I must buy as soon as they go on the shelves, the same with Scrubs.
