Surely Cate Blanchett for this one, although the presence of Meryl Streep worries me that the Academy will pick her again.

Hopefully Blanchett. Hers is up there with the top two or three performances in Woody's films and one of the best I've seen in a while, period.

Rooting for Amy Adams; who was almost already reaching Streepsian heights herself as far as being so boringly consistently good all the time. But I really enjoyed how unexpectedly movie starry she was in AH

I don't care about any award more than this one. Amy Adams needs to win. But she won't, as it goes to Cate Blanchett, who's performance I haven't seen yet.

Farrow was always solid for Woody but Blanchett's turn blows all of hers out of the water, IMO. From what I've seen anyway.

Blanchett should win this hands down, her performance was a level above the rest.

I think it's pretty much a fact that Cate is going to win this Oscar, by the way. Brilliant performance!

Blanchett hopefully, she was amazing. I wouldn't mind if there was a shock and it went to Judi Dench but even though they were fine I wouldn't like to see any of the others win over Blanchett.

Of the nominated performances, I've only seen Adams in American Hustle and I wasn't all that impressed with it.

I've had it with her! EVERY YEAR, no matter what movie she does, she gets a nomination. She could play a ghost in a Paranormal Activity sequel and still get a nomination. I swear she must have mafia connections -- she gets nominated or people die.

Up there with my favourite Sexy Celebrity quotes :D

Did you not like her in August: Osage County? I thought she was tremendous as she almost always is.
