Another black and white movie set in the fifties, early 60's
This movie I remember being re-aired in the seventies on over-the-air television. It was about boy meets girl, but a local gang gets jealous, they get the woman alone and the one scene that really sticks out (no pun intended), was a close up of one of the boys/men of the gang, undoing his belt; I think there was a rain storm in the background. In a later scene, boyfriend finds out what happened and starts a fight around a pool table. Pretty sure this was a classic movie, however, must be controversial because of the implied forced sex scene.

I know it doesn't fit your timeframe, but I'll put out Coward Of The County, a made-for-TV movie.

Thanks for the hint. I will watch it on youtube. I will say, I had the hand me down black and white television through much of the seventies, so my interpretation might be off.

I am not certain, but I think you will find that you saw a heavily censored version of Buster and Billie (1974).
