Is there any Gambling movie worth watching?

Hi,
Just wondering if there is any gambling movie released recently that can be enjoyed this weekend! :)

I don't know about recently but you could try The Hustler, may its streaming/on demand somewhere.

Stay away from The Gambler it's kack! Like Brick said Rounders is pretty good. Maverick is a great western/poker film with Mel Gibson.

Rounders, which merits a sequel for more Teddy KGB alone. High Roller, starring Spider as Stu Ungar is a d2v movie, but is good.

The Gambler (1974) - the original one with James Caan. It's good. 6/10

All good suggestions. The Hustler and its sequel The Colour Of Money are good. Rounders is definitely worth a watch.

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels

Maverick (Mel Gibson) is funny at times

More of a con movie, but the con is because of money at stake-

Robert Altman's California Split (1974) is a great film, highly underrated.

Lock, Stock and two Smocking Barrels
Rounders
21

Those are the ones I like the most!

I haven't watched it yet, but The Cincinnati Kid (1965) is on my watchlist for the 1960s movie list.

Also, I didn't really like The Cooler (2003), but it's a highly rated movie.

Technically Casino Royale isn't a "gambling movie" but gambling's a huge part of the plot, and it's a great film

Definitely agree with the people saying Rounders is good. Edward Norton and Matt Damon together is cool enough, but when you throw in John Malkovich to boot...dude.

I'll second Maverick...not into westerns as a rule, but ran into this one accidentally on TV one night and REALLY enjoyed it...Mel Gibson's breezy laid back performance was a lot of fun as were James Coburn and James Garner...those three alone made the film worth watching.
