https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy709iNG6i8 Anyway, I can't say I'm super-psyched. What really set the Ant-Man films apart for better or worse was their small stakes (no pun intended) and how the characters' unorthodox skill sets made them stand out against other heroes/films in the franchise (especially how inventive the setpieces could get with the constant growing and shrinking) so to have them end up in a whole new universe seems like it's trying a little too hard to ride the coattails of both the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange for its own good. |

Feels like Jonathan Majors needed a bigger pop than that. If I had no clue who his character was, that wouldn’t entice me to see the movie.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Im pretty good with most things Marvel but I have to admit I know next to nothing about Kang.

I don't know how it relates to the movie, but the song I think is one of the very best from the early 1970s. |

He's a time traveler from the far future, and thus has left multiple versions of himself (known by some different names) throughout time. There was a time when it was rumored he had ancestors related to both Reed Richards and Victor von Doom. |

Is there anything in comics which isn't complicated? https://youtu.be/wn5K9S3kNo4 |

Unless they do a heel turn, like when Captain America was revealed to be a Nazi. And don't forget muliverses, reboots, robots, sons, daughters, cousins, doppelgängers, false deaths, resurrections, amnesias, holograms, time-travel, and temporary mantle-passes. |
Re: Antman and the wasp
Hello fellow human movie poster. I have checked it out. It does look funny and entertaining. Paul Rudd is a good choice as he can do funny, as a comedic actor.

It would be cool if they introduced the Micronauts in this, but I don't think that's going to happen.
There's a Micronauts movie in development, though. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...cronauts-1.jpg |

Just got back.
Mix bag. Darren. Jonathan Majors. |
Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Terrific imagery and FX, but seriously befuddled in the plot department. I think they've drained the last blood from this franchise.
|
Quantumania reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. Antman and the Wasp and their family get sucked down a small hole into a tiny realm filled with fantastical creatures. They meet a grinning cat (MODOK), they get chased by faceless soldiers, and they're confronted by a wicked queen (in this case, a king, Kang). I'm not sure which character Bill Murray aligns with - Mad Hatter, perhaps?
WARNING: "ending" spoilers below
It does feel like a weird fairy tale, and at the end of the movie, nothing much has changed: Scott is a little closer to his daughter, and that's about it.
This movie could have been a lot better. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/...4,203,200_.jpg |
Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
A rare DNF for me. This film was just too silly, and I found myself not caring about what happened fairly quickly. It wasn't long before I decided I could be spending my time doing something more rewarding, so I shut it down. No rating, as I didn't make it past 40 mins or so.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Near the bottom of my MCU tier and of the year for sure.
