Best known for her role as Georgette Franklin Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Georgia Engel passed away this past Friday at the age of 70. One of the most memorable voices on television. In addition to Georgette, she has also had recurring roles on The Betty White Show, Coach, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Two and a Half Men.

She was a favorite of mine on the MTM show. I enjoyed listening to her on the DVD extras as she remniscent about working with Mary Tyler Moore. She'll be missed.

Sorry to hear this. I enjoyed her on MTM - the only one who could bring out the better side of the bombastic Ted Baxter . We would all be lucky to have a bit of the sweet character she brought to the screen ( and I' m sure, from within herself ) in our lives. RIP
