i don't nesscarily have a worst movie, but I do have a worst ending of 2003: The Matrix revolutions

Gomez 01-11-04 12:53 AM

Yeah this has been asked a few times already, I got so many that I hated, and they are posted in the other thread about the worst movies.

Beale the Rippe 01-11-04 01:24 AM

I think it'll go like this:

3. Gods and Generals (Sure...call me a hypocrite. This film taught me to reflect upon a movie before grading or reviewing it.)
2. The Cat in the Hat (One terrible scene after another...it isn't first because I really loved one tiny part of it...but the rest of the movie was really, really bad.)
1. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider-The Cradle of Life (Ok...it may not exactly be the worst film released this year...maybe second...but it is definately my least favorite.)

Has anyone seen Boat Trip?
I had it in my hands to rent (b/c I wanted something light after I see a few heavy movies), but I just couldn't bring myself to rent it. I was wondering if it was silly fun like A Night at The Roxbury, or if it's just plain awful.

Lotuspyder 01-15-04 06:23 PM

I'd definately say House of the Dead. That was painful to sit through. They just wandered thru a house blastin the flamin homos to hell. Nonetheless, i'm still gonna rent it just to laugh at it. :D

2 Fast 2 Furious, isn't as is the worst as much is the most disapointing, however it was bad.

Worst movie I can think about is Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses. Worst horror movie ever!

I can't tell you how much I feel the same way. Except I may go so far as to say worst movie ever. The only movie I've ever seen and lost the will to live afterwards.

I think that most movies released in 2003 were rubbish.

very few appealed to me and i usualy like all kinds of films.

i may have to disagree with you there, a possible worst movie ever would be "Gummo", but even though it might be the worst movie ever i still liked it in some way :)

I pity you for even trying to watch these. I'm not assaulting your taste, all I'm saying is. . .I really don't know what I'm saying.

zanucelbun 01-26-04 04:48 AM

My vote goes to Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

It was way too long, but I wouldn't put it above From Justin to Kelly, Gigli, and some other floaters you didn't mention.

Personally, I thought Gods and Generals had some redeeming features, particularly the acting of both Stephen Lang (Stonewall Jackson) and Robert Duvall (Robert E. Lee) (although Jeff Daniel's portrayal of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain was not as profound as his performance in Gettsyburg). The film decidedly had pacing issues (but give me one historical film that isn't forced to solve pacing issues), but luckily the film makes up for it with groundbreaking action mixed with a powerful score, and the strong presentation of both historical and emotional scenes typical to the time.

I really reacted positively to the scene in which one Union soldier and one Confederate soldier meet on the rocks in the middle of a creek to share a drink and a smoke in silent brotherhood. It was a VERY strong scene.

I've not read "Gods and Generals" by Jeff Shaara, but "The Killer Angels" by his father, Michael (from which Gettysburg is adapted) was unbelievably great, and I'm confident that "Gods and Generals" was no less exemplary than its film counterpart.
