Do You Ever Pause a Movie To Read The Screen?

To read something on the screen? I notice doing this especially in an older movie, where there is a newspaper large enough. I'll pause, and make out the headlines, etc... Sometimes I'll do the same if it's in a big city, 1950s, to read the movie title on the marquee, and just signs in general - wondering what they sold, if some companies are around today, etc..

Yeah I do. I'll most often rewind something to look at it in more detail. I wish I could remember an instance of this happening but if I remember anything I'll post it :).

I forgot to mention prices -- especially gas, which usually have a big sign on the corner for the viewer to see, but also inside the store. I'll use the inflation calculator to compare, just like I do when I hear about a guy getting $10 a day for labor.

Yes I do. Especially, the post scripts and some old Chaplin films.

I love documenting the prices of things in movies too...I actually laughed out loud the first time I noticed in Barefoot in the Park that Paul Bratter was paying under $100 a month for a fifth floor walk-up in Manhattan in 1966. I also remember in Divorce American Style there's a scene where Dick Van Dyke goes to a fast food drive-in and gets a burger, fries, and a coke for like $1.65.

I read throughout all movies & tv shows, but without pause since I am reading the subtitles.
