Hundreds dead in explosions in Sri Lankan churches and hotels

https://www.ibtimes.co.in/breaking-o...-sunday-796331

The explosions occurred in churches on easter sunday , indicating planned attack on christians . So is it revenge for what happened at Christchurch ?

Reckon it's more of the revenge against the riots between Buddhists and Muslims that happened in the recent past.

Local news are reporting the organisation, that has a presence in Sri Lanka and, more worryingly, in South India.

But unless their government names the perpetrators, we are all just relying on the media.

For me, the worst thing was that the country's intelligence agency had warned of attacks on church on Easter. Despite of that, the cops failed to prevent it.

Terrible thing for the Lankans to suffer. It's been 10 years since the war ended, and the country was rapidly recovering for the better.

Also to target a religious place on a festival. Just absolutely terrible.

According to counter terrorism specialists that local organisation does not have the resources to mount an attack of this magnitude . Probably has ISIS help .

Denmark's richest man and owner of brands like Vero Moda and Jack and Jones loses 3 of his four children in the terror attacks . They had been on vacation . I guess no one is going to be on vacation in this tourist paradise for some time:(

Obama and Clinton can't bring themselves to say "Christian". Instead use "Easter worshippers".

The UN statement around this attack was equally worse.

It's the same old ****. I also find people being upset by the term 'Merry Christmas' as weirdos. If you want to consider others, who also have festivals during that time, wish them about their festivals separately, but to state that wishing specifically on their festival i.e. Merry Christmas is wrong is part of that problem.

Christian religious places were predominantly targeted on a Christian festival here. Simple fact.

That doesn't make any sense (not that radical Islamists are known for making sense). If retaliation for Christchurch was the objective, why didn't they target New Zealand?

Terrible stuff. My heart goes out to those affected by these bombings.

Sri Lanka was easier target . Security was lax there . NZ was probably much more ready to stop retaliation . Indian security agencies had warned Sri Lankans but they were not mentally prepared or simply did not have the resources .

You're right, of course. But I'm always skeptical of news stories by Big Media. By citing retaliation as a motive, the media can further blame the attack on the NZ mosque as being responsible. But no one is responsible for Sri Lanka except the sick twisted Islamic terrorists. It's just another attack in their jihad campaign. It's very surprising that there haven't been many more attacks on mosques.

What's worrying, and absolutely not surprising, is that the Indian branch of this organisation is close to the Congress party in India. Was largely seen few years ago pushing the Communal violence bill, when Congress was in power.

Also, some of these terrorists were rich and educated. Not new, there have been plenty of cases like that before, but it still boggles my mind.

NZ PM is liberal judging from her wearing hijab in response to Christchurch attacks and liberals are always in denial about this topic .

Sri Lanka is a majority Buddhist country and attacks happened against minority Christians , not against majority Buddhists . What else it is except retaliation for Christchurch , or else majority Buddhists would have been targeted .

Really? This is your takeaway from a horrific attack. The Boogeymen (boogeypeople?) of the modern Republican voter didn't say "Christians."

This partisan BS gets worse all the time.

I mean, if that's someone's only takeaway, or they care about that as much as the bombing, yeah, that's ridiculous. But luckily we can care about more than one thing, and even in differing amounts, simultaneously. So I'll say: I've never heard the phrase "Easter worshipper" in my life, and it's totally bizarre.
