Yeah that was a pretty solid round. Every now and then I accidentally watch a good movie, despite my efforts to the contrary. :)

This one was such a pleasant surprise for me. The imagery, the story itself.

Yeah I think it deserves to be as well-known as Chaney's Phantom and Hunchback. In my opinion it's a "better" film than either of those, it was a lavish big-budget costume piece, and Veidt is one of the few actors of the time that could match Chaney's intensity (and his makeup was great). It wasn't available for viewing for decades, so all the Monster Kids of the 50s didn't have access to it during the monster boom. Otherwise I think it would have a bigger following.

It was pretty good, it was a really fun movie. It took awhile to get into it though, but once you get passed the first thirty minutes it’s a blast!

Twas a very heartfelt film and even though the father did what he did, his emotions and life experience came through authentically, which he was trying to teach.
