Fauda

I noticed the unit fails almost every mission, especially with Boaz in season 1 and Yaara in Season 3. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that in a long time. It’s odd to have the protagonists failing constantly. It certainly is original, and it probably establishes better rapport with the viewer, because we empathise with failure more. But I also know someone who stopped watching it after being constantly disappointed after a build-up of anticipation.

Or am I reading it wrong, and they don’t fail that much? Either way, does it impact the viewing experience?

I think they're depicted more like real people so they don't always succeed. And the viewing experience has been most pleasant for me. Such an excellent show.

I agree that it’s excellent, binged through seasons 1-2 a while back and 3 this weekend. The ‘success rate’ comment was made to me by someone in the armed forces, I hadn’t really thought about it in those terms, but wanted to see what people think. Personally, it probably made me empathise more.
