Someone here once asked why there weren't more Indie films on DVD. I sat down with the 'Head-Cheese' today and got a pretty simple answer. It costs about $20,000 to author, encode, and produce a DVD. Then another $1.70 per disc to replicate. In most cases this exceeds an Indie films original budget. That's why there aren't more indie discs. In a few cases an indie film becomes so popular that it makes several times the amount of it's production cost. It that case the creators can afford a DVD release...Blair Witch is a similiar situation. So there you go. It's clear as mud now, huh. :)
