Re-invention

Just read Matt Mconaughey autobiography and I’ve developed an official man crush. On this note, is Matt Mconaugheys reinvention of himself (rom com stalwart to Oscar winner) the greatest in Hollywood history?

Re: Re-invention

While the Mcconaissance was great, I think Robert Downey Jr beats him in terms of reinvention, on-screen but more importantly off.

Tom Hanks made quite a turn around years back as well

Great shout - only comment would be that there was a clear turning point for Mconaughey (Lincoln lawyer) - RDJ has been a revelation since
Iron man - would you say that was his reinvention?

That's definitely when he became a big movie star, but I'd maybe throw it a little earlier and say Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

After that, he had roles in films like Zodiac & A Scanner Darkly which showcased a more serious talent. Then of course in 09 came Iron Man.
