New PTA project - 1970s California High School film

When PTA is working on a new film, life always seems a bit more beautiful and purposeful -at least for me.

There are very few details available as of yet, but this naturally looks very interesting:

"THR reports the director’s currently untitled project will follow a high school student in the 1970s in San Fernando Valley. While not many more details are available just yet–as usual for the first announcement of a new PTA film–the drama will focus on the student who is also a successful child actor. Written, directed, and produced by Paul Thomas Anderson, casting is underway now for “a multitude of roles.”

Production is aiming to begin this February, which means there’s a chance we could see it before the end of next year if it follows a similar process as Phantom Thread, which began in January 2017 and was released 11 months later. PTA is, of course, no stranger to San Fernando Valley, having grown up around there and shot Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Punch-Drunk Love in the area."

So, this film's shoot already wrapped about a month ago. We can be very grateful that this shoot 'survived' the corona crisis without many obstacles. And it means we can look forward to a 2021 release.

The current working title of this project is Soggy Bottom and it stars Bradley Cooper, Benny Safdie (yes, from the Safdie brothers director duo!) and Alana Haim among others.

Here's a picture of a scene being filmed. As to be expected, it looks phenomenal. I can't wait!
