How come the movie Pumpkin (2002) wasn't a bigger hit?
 

I thought the movie was actually pretty good, if not great, but how come it wasn't a bigger hit? Even the critics didn't give it very good reviews when it came out, so I was wondering if anyone else think it's pretty underrated? Perhaps it came out in the wrong era, and if it had come out when other teen romance movies were like in the 80s, it would have been a bigger hit?

That's true. Are there any more movies like it? I liked the story idea of a person falling in love with a mentally challenged person, but of course, the supporting characters are all against the idea, and it becomes a forbidden love affair. But are there any other movies that are similar out there?
