Movie Soundtrack Song Tournament

Yes. Movie Soundtrack Song Tournament.

RULE #1:

To feature a wide variety of music from different movies...

You can only nominate ONE SONG per movie.

If someone else has nominated a song already from a movie, and you haven't nominated any songs from that movie, you can nominate a different song from that movie.

RULE #2:

You can nominate anything as long as it's on a movie soundtrack.

You can nominate selections from a score (instrumental pieces).

RULE #3:

This won't be strongly enforced, but keep in mind that some MoFos -- such as Cricket -- think you should only nominate songs that were specifically made for the movie. Or songs that are strongly associated with that movie. This won't be strongly enforced, but Rule #3 is about keeping this in mind.

RULE #4:

You must post the link to the song sort of like this:

Annie -- Tomorrow -- Annie

First put the name of the artist singing it, then the title of the song, then the TITLE OF THE MOVIE from whence the song is featured on the soundtrack.

When you're adding links, replace "www" with "m" in the "http://www.youtube" link because if you don't then an obnoxious Youtube embed is gonna appear in the post and it won't look like a link, which is what I want.

RULE #5:

This will hopefully be a 128 song Song Tournament.

I'm looking for 16 people to nominate 8 songs.

If I don't get 16 people, some or all of you will be allowed to nominate more songs. If it's some of you, I will use a randomizer thing to randomly draw the special people who will nominate more.

NOMINATE AWAY!

Nobody answered my question from the other thread:

Does the song nominated have to be the actual version that was in the movie, or could it be any version of a movie song?

For example, someone nominated a unique version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in the last tournament. That's a song that was written for "The Wizard of Oz", but that version of the song was not in the movie. Would that version be allowed?

(I like that version, but I'm not planning to nominate it. I'm just using it as an example.)

RULE #6:

The version of the song must be one associated with the actual movie (plays in the movie, is on the soundtrack, etc.) Not another version.

More than likely, you guys will probably be adding more song nominations, but I wanna see who all might join this since it's movie related.

Hit Girl 07-26-14 11:19 PM

Yeah, I'll have a go. I usually avoid the song contests because I don't know half the songs nominated.
