Just finished Ebert’s Great Movies list

It’s been a year-long odyssey but tonight I finally checked the final box.

What a wonderful thing to do. I discovered so many incredible films and visionary filmmakers I would have never probably heard of. Would recommend.

My gf thinks I watch I watch movies that are incredibly sexually disturbing, such as Once Upon a Time In America or Oldboy for example, and wonders where do I find such disturbing movies. I tell her Roger Ebert's picks.

If this is disturbing to her, I wonder what she'd say about Lolita Vibrator Torture (1987).

@rbrayer Here is my Great Movies list. See you in 10 years!

I don't see a list of films--maybe I'm looking at the wrong tab?

Anyway, I was going to ask which films were your favorites and if there were films on the list you'd never heard of before but ended up loving.

Easier to answer #2:

Night of the Hunter
Orpheus
Sweet Smell of Success
Le Grand Illusion
Ikiru
Yojimbo
Le SamouraI
Playtime
Swing Time
Wings of Desire
The Exterminating Angel
The Terrorist
Diva
8 1/2
A Woman’s Tale

If pushed it’s always going to be Vertigo tho

Would you list your top 3 movies from the list?

So tough. How about top 3 well known and top 3 lesser known?

Well known
1. Vertigo
2. 8 1/2
3. City Lights

Lesser known
1. Ikiru
2. Night of the Hunter
3. Wings of Desire

I was legitimately astonished by these films. There are many more truly great ones on the list tho.
