...You favourite horror movie...

What is people favourite horror movie?
Mine, i can't really say as i have so many... TCM (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Exorcist, Evil Dead, A Nightmare On Elm Street and lots and lots more!
So what is your favourite horror movie people?

bigvalbowski 04-09-02 05:02 PM

I don't really like the genre.

I love the Exorcist but don't really see it as a horror, more of a religious drama.

I'm a big fan of American Werewolf in London but that's more of a comedy.

I guess Candyman would be my favourite out and out horror.

mightymose 04-09-02 05:21 PM

Quite a few of my favorite horror movies are actually horror/comedies... movies like the Evil Dead series (including Army of Darkness), Dead Alive, and the Return of the Living Dead series are frickin' hilarious, but heavy on the gore as well.

A list in no particular order:

The Exorcist, Blair Witch Project, Rosemary's Baby, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Psycho, Halloween, The Shining, Dead Alive, Evil Dead 1&2, Army of Darkness, The Birds, Opera, The Omen, Fright Night, Alien, Phantasm, The Thing, Blair Witch Project... and the list goes on :)

Spooky Man87 04-09-02 05:25 PM

yea i have seen most of them, they are cool!

Sexy Celebrity 04-09-02 05:26 PM

My kind of thread... :yup:

mightymose 04-09-02 05:31 PM

One of the reasons I started my own board was to talk horror... For some macabre reason I just love the stuff and couldn't get enough of it here :)

spudracer 04-09-02 05:47 PM

House On Haunted Hill is one I like, simply because I can watch it over and over again and always get a kick out of it.

Some movies you can only watch once and then the magic is gone, with this one, I can watch it over and over. One thing that sucks about horror movies today is a lot of them don't have that magic that makes them horror movies. Sure you might jump a couple of times, but I feel you have to be able to watch it more than once and still jump each time, like you're watching it for the first time. :)

Marcellus 04-09-02 07:38 PM

I rarely watch horror, so I'd have to say the Japanese film, Ring.

mightymose 04-09-02 09:03 PM

Don't even get me started on the The Ring... I had a terrible experience trying to find that one :)

Marcellus 04-09-02 09:18 PM

I doubt we would've seen the likes of it on NZ shores if it weren't for the film festival it screened at.

spudracer 04-09-02 10:10 PM

I've never even heard of it, well...not until some of you brought it up a while back. I might just have to see if I can track it down.

mightymose 04-09-02 10:38 PM

I just finished with The Stepford Wives... Pretty scary movie, for the wife at least... I thought Stepford was a utopia :)

Woody Allen is married to her.

No, that's Rosemary's Adopted Baby, a different and altogether creepier tale.

Arthur Dent 04-10-02 05:45 PM

Oh yeah, THAT'S the one I'm thinking of. I apologize for the faux pas.
