...You favourite horror movie...
What is people favourite horror movie?
Mine, i can't really say as i have so many... TCM (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Exorcist, Evil Dead, A Nightmare On Elm Street and lots and lots more! So what is your favourite horror movie people? |
I don't really like the genre.
I love the Exorcist but don't really see it as a horror, more of a religious drama. I'm a big fan of American Werewolf in London but that's more of a comedy. I guess Candyman would be my favourite out and out horror. |
Quite a few of my favorite horror movies are actually horror/comedies... movies like the Evil Dead series (including Army of Darkness), Dead Alive, and the Return of the Living Dead series are frickin' hilarious, but heavy on the gore as well.
A list in no particular order: The Exorcist, Blair Witch Project, Rosemary's Baby, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Psycho, Halloween, The Shining, Dead Alive, Evil Dead 1&2, Army of Darkness, The Birds, Opera, The Omen, Fright Night, Alien, Phantasm, The Thing, Blair Witch Project... and the list goes on :) |
yea i have seen most of them, they are cool!
|
My kind of thread... :yup:
When it comes to this genre, it is hard for me to pick a favorite. Horror movies used to be my only obsession. A Nightmare On Elm Street in order: 1, 3, 7, 4, 5, 6, 2 Texas Chainsaw Massacre in order: 1, 2, 3, 4 Friday the 13th in order: 3, 4, 5, 2, 1, 8, 9, 7, 6 Halloween in order: 1, 4, 5, 2, 7, 6, 3 Hellraiser in order: 1, 2, 4, 3 Scream in order: 1, 2, 3 Child's Play in order: 4, 2, 1, 3 Leprechaun in order: 2, 3, 1, 4, 5 Alien in order: 2, 3, 1, 4 Others I like: Return of the Living Dead Candyman Creepshow 1 & 2 Slumber Party Massacre Popcorn Night Of The Living Dead Evil Dead 2 Tales From The Crypt (Demon Knight & Bordello of Blood) Troll 2 Urban Legend 1 & 2 Killer Klowns From Outer Space Wishmaster In The Mouth of Madness Prom Night An American Werewolf In London Fright Night 1 & 2 Sleepaway Camp 2 Warlock 1 & 2 Puppet Master (there are so many... haven't seen the last few) Subspecies Witchcraft 5 (mainly because it's erotic) Christine I, Madman Dracula (old version w/ Bela) Prince of Darkness Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (if that counts) The Exorcist The Fly (Jeff Goldblum version) Jacob's Ladder (though, not really horror) Maximum Overdrive Misery Nosferatu Pet Sematary Poltergeist Psycho (Hitchcock) Blacula (saw this recently on BET) Serial Mom (if that counts) Silence of the Lambs Stephen King's IT Targets Witchboard 1 & 2 Bad Dreams Michael Jackson's Thriller (love it, has to be on the list) That's all I can think of for now. There are still many that I have to see. |
One of the reasons I started my own board was to talk horror... For some macabre reason I just love the stuff and couldn't get enough of it here :)
|
House On Haunted Hill is one I like, simply because I can watch it over and over again and always get a kick out of it.
Some movies you can only watch once and then the magic is gone, with this one, I can watch it over and over. One thing that sucks about horror movies today is a lot of them don't have that magic that makes them horror movies. Sure you might jump a couple of times, but I feel you have to be able to watch it more than once and still jump each time, like you're watching it for the first time. :) |
I rarely watch horror, so I'd have to say the Japanese film, Ring.
|
Don't even get me started on the The Ring... I had a terrible experience trying to find that one :)
|
I doubt we would've seen the likes of it on NZ shores if it weren't for the film festival it screened at.
|
I've never even heard of it, well...not until some of you brought it up a while back. I might just have to see if I can track it down.
|
I just finished with The Stepford Wives... Pretty scary movie, for the wife at least... I thought Stepford was a utopia :)

A few of these may not be your classic horror-type movies, but they definatley are affiliated with the genre.

No, that's Rosemary's Adopted Baby, a different and altogether creepier tale.
|
Oh yeah, THAT'S the one I'm thinking of. I apologize for the faux pas.
