Stranger Than Fiction

Stranger Than Fiction
Release Date: November 10, 2006
Starring: Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah, Emma Thompson

Columbia Pictures and Mandate Pictures' "Stranger Than Fiction" is an inventive comedy about a novelist (Emma Thompson) struggling to complete her latest, and potentially finest, book — she only has to find a way to kill off her main character, Harold Crick, and she'll be done. Little does she know that Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) is inexplicably alive and well in the real world and suddenly aware of her words. Fiction and reality collide when the bewildered and hilariously resistant Harold hears what she has in mind and realizes he must find a way to change her (and his) ending.

Brilliant.

But can Will Ferrell behave himself? (This isn't supposed to be Old School 2, I'm guessing.)

Stranger Than Fiction looks like a decent movie. The plot reminds me of Delirious with John Candy. Similar in ways. It also seems like a lighter and funnier version of The Truman Show. With Jim Carrey taking on a slightly more dramatic role, Ferrell maybe doing the same... Cast is alright. Ferrell and Hoffman on screen together should be cool. Not a huge Latifah fan though, hopefully she isn't overbearing in this one.

Looks interesting, hope it doesn't try and be too clever and spoil it.

Ferrell is a legend though!

I saw it and it was amazing.

Will Ferrell was nominated at the Golden Globes for Best Actor-Comedy/Musical but lost it to Sacha Baron Cohen. He was amazing. Maggie Gylenhaal is really good too (and really cute too) Emma Thompson made me laugh as much as Ferrell, and Dustin Hoffman and Queen Latifah were in pretty mediocre performances.

I agree - great film. Will Ferrel proved himself versatile. I'm also really starting to like Maggie Gyllenhaal too. Great film
