Blade Trinity
 

While not as exciting as the first two installments, Blade Trinity holds little to be expected. Directed by David S. Goyer, screenwriter for the first two films. Starring Wesley Snipes as Blade, Jessica Biel as Abigail Whistler, Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King, and Parker Posey as Danica Talos

Our story begins with a group unearthing a creature in Somaria, what the creature is is unknown to the audience. Thus begins the credit/first fight sequence of the film. With Snipes delivering the signature blows to his villians and making the world safer for us humans. Little does he know that the vampires have been plotting to set him up so that he is no longer a threat to them. Blade kills what he thinks to be a vampire and is now wanted by the FBI for murder. Blade gets captured, held for questioning, drained of his strength from drugs, and questioned more.

This leads us to the new additions to the vampire slayers, Abigail Whistler, played by Biel, and Hannibal King, played by Reynolds. Biel's character is a boring one, has a past, but the director felt not to share it with the audience. Reynolds' character is that he used to be a vampire was delivered a serum to make him human again and now hunts the undead. These two enter the FBI building, save Blade and make it out without a scratch.

Once back at their safehouse, they inform Blade of a plan to wipe out all vampires by delivering a virus into the live and well Dracula, played by Dominic Purcell.

You know what, I just got done watching the movie and I can't even bring myself to write a review on it.

While this movie was enjoyable with Reynolds' comic relief in every scene he was in, the rest of the cast seemed clueless as to why they were there. Clearly something that other Blade director's overlooked when dealing with Goyer's writing. If not for the shotty directing, this pile of kitty poo, could've been quite the icing on the cake for anyone following the Daywalker.

Long story short, if you were a fan of the first two and want to see this, go ahead, throw your money down, you'll get some laughs out of it.

If you're new to the Blade storyline, you might be a little confused, but you'll catch on quickly.

I'm a big vampire genre movie fan, and I've been waiting for this "trilogy capper" to come out for some time now, but from what your saying Spud, it sounds like a movie best viewed on dvd, if at all. I was a bit nervous about both Reynolds and Biel coming on board, but I figured even they couldn't screw this up. Spud, are the special effects any good, at least good enough to pay matinee prices, or should true Blade fans just skip out on the whole theater experience on this one all together? I was planning on going sometime this weekend, but maybe I'll spend that money on some Christmas presents instead... :confused:

The reason there are two different threads is because one is about the trailer and the other the movie. Note the threads are in two different locations. It's alright to have two threads on a movie as long as they're too different topics (i.e., Thread about the trailer, thread about the movie)

For Piledriver, the effects are pretty much the same, in some sequences it's obvious it's a visual, but for the most part, it's at least worthy of a matinee fee. It still holds a campiness to it, but for Blade's character, it's like the movie was written more for Biel and Reynolds' character's, you hardly see Blade in the movie and when you do, he has minimal lines.

Ahhhhh....I see. Blade being the established character, the powers that be saw it fit to give Jessica and Ryan the most dialogue, because their characters are the weakest and probably need constant attention so the audience doesn't fall asleep between action sequences, am I right? I may see this flick myself sometime this weekend, and hopefully I won't feel like I threw $7.00 out the window... :suspicious:

I enjoyed Blade: Trinity, although not as good as Blade 2 or the original. The effects were good, although in some instances you could tell it was CG (dogs and glass).

The story was good although it could have been better. Some of the characters were only introduced to be killed later on which I thought was quite pointless. While Blade may not have been in it as much as people would have liked, it's still a good movie. The fighting sequences are great and deserve credit.

As with all reviews it's always a difference of opinion. So mine is above.

Hmmmm, im still undecided as to whether i like it or not. Will have to give it a second bash, see what happens.

I watched it and it feels as if a bunch of kids made it. The movie was completely rushed and it had no back up story at all. Nothing was too confusing, and the villians didn't even seem powerful at all.

To be honest the first one just tore the rest of them away. This one was left in the dust. Sure it had its special affects and all, but everything was tremendously rushed.

First off I am a fan of the Blade series, and loved all three movies. Even though Blade trinity had more complex digital action then in the last two movies, Blade 2 was my favorite. The story line was a bit better, and it could have ended right there and I would have been happy.

With Blade Trinity there was more humor, and the fights were a little more then in the last movies, meaning they were a little more choreographed and looked cool. I would recommend this movie to anyone that is a fan of Blade.

Blade Trinity should be just classed as an ultra long Apple advertisment.

If you look to go the cinema to see films you know you are going to like, you best miss this one out if your not to keen on the whole vampire thing.

IMO, I thought Blade was better then both Blade Trinity and certainly a poor Blade II.

this movie was so ******* ridiculously horrible, i wanted to cry watching it... STOP USING YOUR ******* GUNS you have swords, and stabbing weapons, THOSE ARE COOL not shooting a ****in jumping vampire nearby, granted, gun slinger **** is sweet, but it got so old in this movie, i want to kill someone, this is an ACTION movie, and action is something that you do, RUN JUMP **** like that, take on a group of vampires, with a sword, THATS COOL, not shooting, and the story blew my ass all over the place, DRAGULA DIES!! wow... big deal, why cant, BLADE die, he needed it after this, actin ****in ghetto n ****, that was retarded, and all the corny **** they made jessica biel do, i could make a better action movie with my ball hairs, whoever choreographed that movie, is probably butt****ing the guy who wrote the story, and the both need to have there balls trampled on and then shot in the ****in brain... i am pissed, Versus had barely a ****ing story, and no money, and the actors were horrible, but it was sweet by the end, because the action was awesome. And most action movies, dont really need a story, thats for drama ****, and the ****ty comedy, go back to van wilder Reynolds, ****ty one-liners make me wanna kick yer ****. and ****ing, Triple H... a ****ing wrestler, the dude from grounded for life was cooler, it was over after the first one, three killed the whole name for "Blade", to top it off they shouldve made him a white tranny, who calls himself MARLA. Ive seen better pornos. I spit on this movie and everyone who participated in making it.
