Daisies Věra Chytilová, 1966 Daisies feels like one big celebration. We follow Marie and Marie as they enjoy life. They dress up, dance, feast, and laugh, without caring about the consequences. As they say at the start of the film:
"If everything's going bad in this world... so... are... we!"
Věra Chytilová uses a wide range of cinematic techniques to fill the film with unusual visual choices, which fits well with the energy and enthusiasm that shines throughout the film. She turns Daisies into a feast for the eyes, almost as abundant as the ones Marie and Marie indulge in. Overall I had a lot of fun with Daisies. It's short, bold and I would recommend it. The visuals alone make this worth a watch! |
