Just read that the television legend died yesterday of natural causes. He was 88 years old.

I think we must have posted it simultaneously...I tried to delete mine, but it wouldn't let me.

He was more than just a talk show host. I remember watching his talk show back in the 1980s when used to try all kinds of things that his guests asked him to try. He was so upbeat and outgoing that it was always fun to watch him.

R.I.P. :(

RIP.

I'm pretty sure he's clocked more hours on-screen on television than anyone else.

Thats correct.

Regis Francis Xavier Philbin; August 25, 1931 – July 24, 2020) was an American media personality, actor, and singer, known for hosting talk and game shows. Having been called "the hardest working man in show business", Philbin holds the Guinness World Record for the most hours on U.S. television. His trademarks included his excited manner, his New York accent, his wit, and his irreverent ad-libs.

Well, time to let the cat out of the bag. I was actually on Regis and Kathie Lee's show on Christmas of 1988. I was in a school choir and we got to perform live on the show because we were getting ready for a performance at Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular Pre-Show. Regis was great and even patted me on the shoulder as we went to the studio. He will forever be an icon. RIP
