The Martian Chronicles - 1980 TV miniseries
 

I saw the 3-episode miniseries The Martian Chronicles in 1980 when it first came to TV but I haven't seen it since. I don't remember it well. I also read the Ray Bradbury book way back before 1980 but I don't remember that well either.

I see that it is on YouTube but the quality is very poor. I can purchase a 2-disc blu-ray from Amazon for about $23. I should probably read the book again before I do . . .

Any thoughts on this old miniseries?

I have this kicking around in my collection. Like you said, it doesn't hold up very well, and even Bradbury himself was critical of it back then.

Still love the book, and I reread it from time to time.

That's what I'm going to do -- read it again. I read it before the TV series came out. Thanks.:)

I never read the book but I have the series on DVD. I thought it was pretty good.
