Yup, another dvd collection thread

Everyone else has done it, so I guess I might as well do it too. This collection is pretty small and there are still many dvds I want to get. Keep in mind, there are some of these dvds that I regret buying so don't mock me too much for them. Any comments or suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Shrek

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me

The Central Park Concert - Dave Matthews Band

Star Wars Trilogy

K-Pax

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Being John Malkovich

High Fidelity

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Adaptation

12 Monkeys

Memento

Top Secret

Scrubs: Season One

Family Guy: Seasons One and Two

You have some good movies in there dude

What edition of the Memento DVD do you have btw?

Yeah, good start for a sweet collection, get some foreign flicks, at least one Miike film, cuz everyone needs a Miike film.

Yeah, I will get some foreign films as soon as I find some that I like enough to buy. I have not seen many so far and only a couple were very impressive.

I wouldn't mind Woodstock. A friend of mine's apparently booked Richie Havens for a roots festival later in the summer...definately one to get free tickets for. ;)

I've updated my list.

Misirlou 08-13-05 10:10 PM

You don't own any Scorsese movies! I suggest you go out and buy Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, and Casino right now! And you only own one western?!? Go get some John Wayne or The Man With No Name collection. I also suggest you go out and buy a Hitchcock collection and some Kubrick!
Good list, though :)

SamsoniteDelilah 08-13-05 10:14 PM

You have some great stuff on there!
Hey, you like DMB? :) Cool.

Strummer521 08-13-05 10:18 PM

I'm starting to really love Hitchcock and I plan to get some of his movies, I just haven't gotten around to it and they are hard to find at the big chain stores which is all we have around here. Also, I brace myself as I say this, but I've only seen two Scorsese films and don't like either one enough to want the DVDs which sounds stupid considering I have discs like The One contaminating my collection. However keep in mind that both the collection and my knowledge of great films are both young though growing (slowly) and one day I hope to have a collection I can be proud of. Someday.

I won't get angry till I find out which movies they were......................

True, but the collections I have seen there contain obscure Hitch films that I don't know if I should buy without seeing first. I would rather add Dial M for Murder, Rear Window and Psycho to my collection. Then again, anything by Hitchcock is probably worth owning, and they are cheap....aw shucks I'll pick one of 'em
up next time I go to Best Buy.

C'mon you can tell me I was only joking about getting angry

Strummer521 08-13-05 11:52 PM

If you don't get angry, somebody will. :suspicious:

Besides, I probably owe both movies a rewatch since one of them I saw when I wasn't really the aspiring movie fan that I am now.

 I don't think anyone will get seriously angry..............................

Unless one of the two movies is Goodfellas or Raging Bull................but you haven't seen either of them so there is nothing to worry about, right?

Strummer521 08-14-05 12:00 AM

...Let's not get hasty here. Keep in mind, I never said I didn't think they were good movies, I just didn't love them or think I would want to rewtch them a lot, but as I said iI need to give them another chance...oh God, Im in trouble here...

Misirlou 08-14-05 12:02 AM

Just answer this question: What were the two movies?

Strummer521 08-14-05 12:07 AM

Strummer521 08-14-05 12:09 AM
