Merry Christmas Music Tournament
|
Re: Merry Christmas Music Tournament
Yeah, I know, I'll fix my links later. I picked 16 songs, because I doubt we get much of anyone else. I'm still waiting on MoJo's reply. I have a lot to do through the night, and I'll be gone all day tomorrow. Go ahead and post if you are joining, as well as any nominations you may already have. I'll be back! I swear!
Things to Know! 1. I'm going back to eight sets per round. 2. I'm not going to super rush you guys. That would make me one hell of a hypocrite. 3. Yes, you can use the same song, as long as someone else sings it. 4. As far as the final two rounds are concerned, I am going to have you all PM your answers. Don't freak out. It will only be to the last two, and I WILL post all answers afterwards. 5. I feel as though I was going to say one more thing, but I data dumped. Anyone!?! I dunno! |
My noms may well change to a less generic 'anyone could have nominated them' set, gotta get my thinking cap on... I assume we will be going at a pace that means people actually get a chance to listen to the songs?
The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York Paul Anka - It's Christmas Everywhere Celtic Woman - Little Drummer Boy Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody The Sonics - Santa Claus Johnny Mathis - When A Child Is Born (Soleado) Celtic Woman - O Holy Night Dean Martin - Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! The Kingston Trio - The First Snows Of Winter Siouxsie & The Banshees - Il Est Né, Le Divin Enfant Low - Just Like Christmas Celtic Woman - Carol Of The Bells Brook Benton - This Time Of The Year The Killers ft. Toni Halliday - A Great Big Sled Michael Barbera - Do You Hear What I Hear Good Shepherd Band - Gabriel's Message (My Gift To You) Enya - O Come, O Come, Emmanuel Casting Crowns - While You Were Sleeping Joe Williams - Kissing By The MIstletoe |
I'm in, and I'll post my nominations tomorrow night if that's okay. :)

This, from the Queen of slooooow. That's good because if I get busy with work tomorrow, I might need the weekend to finish picking my noms. :) (But I'll try to get them done tomorrow night. :)) |

(But I'll try to get them done tomorrow night. :)) Before I forget, I need the link to that randomizer thingy. Please! p.s. Way to go, Chyp. That was fast. Change them up all you want, too. I've already been having second thoughts. |

No rush at all. I would feel like a first rate boob, rushing people during one of these. You all take your time. See Clazor, just like I said. I'm as slow as Christmas itself. That's the first time in my life I've said that, and it was actually true. Neat!

This is the randomizer that I use: https://www.random.org/lists/ I also have a question about the nominations. Are we allowed to nominate a song that someone else nominated if it is sung by a different artist? (I haven't picked my noms yet, so it's not an issue either way. I just want to know before I start choosing my noms.) |

I believe so, anyways. Anyways, I didn't set the thread up. I totally forgot about my rules section. Well damn! I had them all written out in my head, too. I will fix that right now. I only have a couple things I should mention. |

Oh yes. I almost did two versions of a song or three myself.

Thanks. :) I don't know if I'll nominate any "same songs", but at least I know they're allowed if I want to do so. :) |

... and also in the spirit of Christmas if it helps those living in less 'artist-rich' areas I'll change my vote on nominating same chunes but by different artist(e)s to 'yes' :) |

I vote a resounding 'NO' .... furthermore I also vote that people should only be able to pick nominations from artists that actually reside within a five mile radius of their own home .... thankfully I live in an area densely populated by all manner of popular artists where we don't even move those less fortunate in terms of breathing to the cemetery 5.2 miles away :shifty:
You would be amazed at how many country artists live right here in my co-op. |

I'll probably not take part in this tourney, Destiny. Sorry.
If you need me as a back-up tie breaker, I'll be around. |
