Shows you are still waiting for on DVD

With Diff'rent Strokes starting to be released in its completion (season 7 coming out in February next year), I want to bring up all the shows I'm still hoping will get the same treatment as well:

Happy Days - It makes no sense to not release the whole series. Sure the later seasons are not as beloved, and maybe not even as good, but it still continued to be popular and fans of the show want the complete series either way. Get on to putting out the last 5 years.

My Three Sons - 2 seasons out of 12, and both the ones they did release were split up in 2 volumes each. Shame on you, Paramount! Have some respect for your customers!

,Who's The Boss? ONE. SEASON. One only. The show actually did pretty well when it aired and is still seen as a classic today, so why this meager treatment? I'm sure if a much lesser known show like Eight Is Enough can be released fully, this show shouldn't sell any less.

Murder in Small Town X...one of my favorite reality shows and something I would love to see relaunched

Also, season 1 of The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour still hasn't been released in any shape or form yet. Although I do kinda wish they would release every episode, not just some.

Re: Shows you are still waiting for on DVD

MADtv has a lot of seasons left to be released. Only 1-4 have been released in full, while 8-10 got a Best Of set at best (which I hear is not even that good, the classic Oprah fat cam sketch aside). Season 5-7 and 11-15 are not available whatsoever.

Come on, ShoutFactory! You gotta let us own the last season with Phil LaMarr at least!

Stranger Things. For some reason it is taking forever for series 1 to come out on blu-ray here in the UK and it came out on Netflix nearly three years ago now. And don't even think it's out on blu-ray anywhere in the world apart from an exclusive deal with one shop in America...

Re: Shows you are still waiting for on DVD

Why wait? Why not buy a multi-region DVD player & buy the dvd from Amazon.com in America? I buy DVDs all the time from amazon.co.uk so I don’t have to wait for the American version to come out.

Re: Shows you are still waiting for on DVD

^ I do have a multi region player. Stranger Things is only out on blu-ray officially from Target and they don't ship to Britain, and it's only avaliable on Amazon.com via traders at a higher price so I'll have to deal with all the customs stuff too.

I'd rather wait for the UK release.

Customs stuff?

Nausicaä 09-03-18 07:36 PM

Re: Shows you are still waiting for on DVD

Import Fees Deposit, Customs clearance and so on. Basically I can't be arsed with all that especially when it comes to dealing with traders.

Twice I've had to run after Amazon for a deposit refund when they went over what they estimated at the checkout.

I wonder how come we don’t have to deal with customs stuff here? Mail carrier shoves it in mailbox & Bob’s your uncle.

Stark Raving Mad (1999–2000)

https://alchetron.com/cdn/stark-ravi...esize-750.jpeg

This "Odd Couple-type" sitcom starred Tony Shalhoub ("Monk") as a best selling horror writer, and Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") as his OCD editor. It was one of the funniest shows ever. It won the People's Choice Award for Favorite New Television Comedy Series, and then . . . it was cancelled.

It only ran for one season, and it's on YouTube, but low quality, (which is better than nothing), but it deserves an official DVD release.

Here's a link to the pilot episode. You can easily find the rest of the series from there.

Wow.
Disney actually got the stick out of their ass for once. DuckTales volume 4 has finally been released!
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....vL._SX342_.jpg

Now, the downside? It's a Disney Movie Club exclusive. But hopefully becoming a member shouldn't be too tricky. It's available on ebay granted, but the price is a teeny bit too expensive (and gets even worse if I get forced to pay customs).
I did get a bootleg DVD of the final 25 episodes, so the thought of getting the set again feels kinda weird. But the plus is that the picture and sound quality especially would be far superior. Not to mention subtitles.

I watched all 11 seasons of Happy Days recently. I'd seen the first 6 seasons before and those are on DVD but I was really surprised that I'd never even seen seasons 7-11, so watching those were like watching a new show!

The last seasons of Happy Days were really different than the first 6 seasons, there was different cast members being added as the show progressed. I liked the later seasons best when it featured Joanie (Erin Moran) and her best friend Jenny Piccalo (Kathy Silvers). Those two had a good repoire and had with Ritchie (Ron Howard) and Ralph Malph (Donny Most) gone from the show they then focused more on Joanie and Jenny.

I watched the whole series of "Happy Days", but I preferred the earlier episodes over the later episodes. I always liked Ritchie, and I thought the show was lacking something when he left.

In the later episodes, they focused too much on Joanie and Chachi, but I didn't think they were enough to carry the show. (Which is probably why their spin-off show failed.) They also tried to make Fonzie into a more "normal" person, but that just didn't feel right either. He was a very unique character, but they tried to make him into a family man, with one girlfriend instead of a guy who "plays the field", and the even tried to give him a kid. It just didn't work for me. :(

Plus Roger (Ted McGinley) and Flip (Billy Warlock) were both lame characters.

YES!

Another surprising bit of happy news! My Three Sons season 3 has fiiiiinally gotten released!

Yes, it's an Amazon MOD exclusive release, but it sure as hell is better than nothing. Once in a while Paramount actually does something right.

I want to see Red Green Show released on DVD that isn't either a small collection of Steve Smith's favorites, or $100 for one season. I have the 2000, and 2001 seasons, but now they're being sold for over $100 on Amazon. That is, unless I want the compilations that they released, but those are a select few episodes, and not whole seasons.

I know what you mean about prices. As much as I want My Three Sons season 3, 69.98 dollars is a god-damn fortune. Not to mention customs as well because of where I live.

Amusing when Scandinavians curse like Americans.

Japanese anime from the '70s and '80s, like Grandizer, Gaiking, Star Vengers, and Danguard Ace. The first two in particular.
The Japanese had the best cartoons, man: great robots, multiple-episode storylines and series finales.
