DC Comic's The Suicide Squad
 

Has anyone else heard about DC Comic's new movie, "The Suicide Squad"? Its been mentioned that Jared Leto maybe playing "The Joker". Director will be David Ayer. Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie are mentioned as well.

There are many sites on the internet talking about this already.

Yeah Robbie is going to play Harley Quinn... been announced about 3 or 4 hours ago.

Yeah but really Jared Leto as Joker?

I know someone would be a better "Joker"... he's got the grin for it

Here is to hoping that he takes a Hamill influenced slant on the character. IME Nicholson was iconic and I appreciate what Ledger did, but I would think he would avoid similarities to these portrayals.

I don't know anything about Deadshot, but Will Smith just seems too stiff for a comic role.

I heard about it back in 2010.

Will Smith is the only big dud there for me, didn't want him cast when it was first rumoured as I can't stand him and he has been cast... bla.

Black guy as Deadshot? No issue. Will Smith post After Earth? Kinda hesitant. Will Smith playing Deadshot more like his early roles? I will give it a shot.

Also I will see ANYTHING Margot Robbie is in.

Really looking forward to this, I dont really know much about The Suicide Squad but its a comic book movie and im in.

I'm ok with Will Smith as Deadshot and Leto as the Joker. The rest of the cast I'm not exactly crazy about.

The upside of having Jared Leto as the Joker is that it'll make the character really easy to hate.

Rumors? Yes. The studio just made the official announcement yesterday.

I'm just not impressed with Will Smith anymore. When I was young, he was cool...but it's the same act over and over....the guy from ID4, MIB, Badboys.

Today was the day I realized the reason behind no slated Batman movies after BvS...He's just going to be in every DC movie. Seriously, the Joker and Harley...

I have looked into the Suicide Squad and it sounds awesome fairplay so im looking forward to this even more :yup:

Oo nice, Viola Davis has apparently been cast as Amanda Waller.

Sounds cool - hopefully they'll make this an edgier film compared to the typical comic book film - maybe even go for an R rating.

Some of these films (like The Avengers) are trying way to hard to be tame - almost like they're alming for a PG rating. In fact I don't remember a single on-screen death in the Avengers; I don't see why neutering the action is so necessary just to keep a PG-13 rating
- even the Star Wars prequels for example included lightsaber beheadings and other on-screen deaths and managed to get by with PG or PG-13 ratings.

What would you think about Javier Bardem as the Joker? Just an idea that popped into my head
