name of fantasy movie about pirates and valhalla

Hello

I have seen parts of this great fantasy movie but do not remember the name.

Something abouts pirates (actually viking) who set off on an adventure in search of Vahalla. In one part, they reach the North/South Pole, where they encountyer some bad thing (I do not remember). Later, they sail off the earth (earth turns out to be flat) and fall on the moon, where they find valhalla.

This movie is somewhat comedy but still very very epic fantasy. I just remembered it after watching The Adventures of Baron Munchuesin, the best fantasy movie ever made.

Does anyone know the name of the movie I am talking about?

Thanks everyone.

I reckon the movie you`re looking for is Erik the Viking ,starring Tim Robbins

Check it out here:

Yup, definitely the other Terry from Monty Python, Terry Jones' Erik the Viking (1989), released the year after The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Not anywhere as good as Gilliam's work - Jones certainly doiesn't have the strong visual sense Gilliam does (not many do), but still OK fun, kind of Gilliam-lite.

I like Tim Robbins, but I think he was miscast here, and Mickey Rooney is just a what-the-fu*k-is-he-doing-here? poser. Cleese's little bit is hysterical (of course), and Jones even used Charles McKeowen, who appeared in Time Bandits, Brazil and Munchausen and co-wrote the early drafts of Brazil's script with Gilliam. McKeowen previously worked with the Pythons in front of the camera on Life of Brian, and with Jones and Palin on "Ripping Yarns".

Anywho, Erik the Viking is not yet on DVD in the U.S., and has even gone out-of-print on VHS.
