James Woods can I get a hand for the man
 

One of my favorite actor that start acting in the 70's with such classics as Night Moves (1975) & Choirboys, The (1977)he has tackled many type of roles do many different genres and always in my opinion succeded in them.

Some of the movies he's done were below par and not so good but his performances in those have been the best things about those movies.

Tell me what you Guys & Gals think about him ?

what movie do you like or dislike of his of his?

I guess I usually catch his bad movies (Vampires, Any Given Sunday) instead of some of his good ones.

He's not that bad acting wise. I mean the guy's voice is what I like. He does have talent though, but sadly draws some bad movies out of the stack more often than he should. :)

James Woods is alright, I guess. His range is pretty limited.

When you see James Woods in a movie, you know what you're going to get - a James Woods performance. The character will be smart, talk quickly, use his hands a lot, and probably be a bad seed.

Once Upon A Time in America is the only movie where he kind of broke out of the James Woods stereotype for me.

Best James Woods performance though was his cameo in the Simpsons when he took over from Apu in the Kwik-E-Mart to prepare for a role.

James Woods: I'm off now. I have to go to another planet and fight alien beings.

The Simpsons: Sounds like a good movie.

James Woods: (pause) Yeah, a movie.

I voted for "He's really good." I think he's a fine actor...he does what he does, and he does it well. Seems like a funny guy, too. Don't have anything particularly insightful to say beyond that...other than I liked his small role in "Contact." :)

I LOVE James Woods. I think he's a wack-o.:D

My Favorite Peformance of his is Oliver Stone's Salvador

I think You need to watch some more of his stuff. His range is deep just look at his performance in Cop (1987) as Lloyd Hopkins to his peformance in Casino (1995) as Lester Diamond than look at him in Salvador (1986) as Richard Boyle there so far from each other.

Well I think he's an incredible actor that always rises to the occasion and never lets me down maybe the movie but not his performance. Take his character in Specialist, The (1994) yeah it was bad but he's the best think about that movie.

A lot of the stuff he's chooses to do in hollywood most actors in hollywood wouldn't have gone for. He's always done roles that have some internal surface to there characters,characters that mean something to him and that's extremly satisfying to me, that there are actor like that.

He's on my A-Team there's no question about it

Hey LB I will back you up. James Woods is an exceptional actor who brings intelligence and depth to even the most shallow part.

Nice to see you diggin him in "Nightmoves" which also features one of Gene Hackman's coolest roles. "Salvador" and "Cop" too deserves the kudo's as some of Mr Woods finest (James Belushi too is surprisingly effective in a dramatic role)

As a borderline guilty pleasure John Badham's "The Hard Way" proves Woods is a great straight man in a comedic part.

Its also worth noting he has a borderline genius IQ and is a member of M.E.N.S.A

i think he is a fine actor but i can't forget this interview i read wherein he went on and on about f***ing.
he just came off as such an arrogant perv.
and every single article i've seen about him highlights his Mensa status.

i need to see a filmed interview with him to get a better idea of what he's like as a person, but i do like his acting.

(1989, made-for-TV) where he played Bill Wilson, the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.

(nothing is more irritating than knowing what the film is about but having no idea what it's called )

Unless you mean the would-be dark comedy Next Door (1994, made-for-TV) with Randy Quaid and Kate Capshaw, I have no idea what you're talking about.

That would be the one... was pretty crap, but now I can rest.

Woods is awesome even if he is a real cocky bastard. His playing that racist old guy in Ghosts of Mississippi was fantastic.

That was a great film.

When I saw the title of this thread, it did remind me that I haven't seen the guy in anything for quite a long time...what's up with that?

Well, apart from in Family Guy repeats, I saw him the other day in an episode of The Streets of San Francisco, playing one of a gang of sailors who were up to no good.
