Wow, De Niro again already? Scorsese must have really missed him after that 24 year gap between Casino and The Irishman.
I certainly don't mind it though. It's pretty cool that he pairs his two most frequent collaborators up with each other. |
De Niro young is the finest actor anyone could be, then came De Niro stupid movies for the money, messing in politics and I began to heavily dislike the guy. I can’t even imagine he made my favorite movie of all time, sometimes I think about it, I get headaches it’s so bad.

If I avoided every actors' movies because I don't like their politics, there would be a lot of quality stuff I'd have to skip...
You're not wrong about him being less picky than in the beginning of his career. But I thought he was great in The Irishman, and his role as Bernie Madoff in The Wizard Of Lies could be one of the best performances in his career. A truly chilling portrait of a greedy sociopath. |
I never avoided anyone because of there politics views, I get to know them if the actor personality intrigues me, and the thing is, I kinda agree with his politics views, the ones I know of, that are not many, but I would prefer if he decided to keep his mouth shut, because he talks like he haves the truth in his pocket, but his just an actor, making it even more dramatic, someone paid to lie.

Eh, I wouldn't say he's paid to lie just because he's actor. That's a bit of a cliché assumption if you ask me.
That being said I often wish Jon Voight and Scott Baio wouldn't talk so much bullsh'it. Few actors are as full of themselves as they are. |
Yes, he does have the right, like we all have, would be nice if he had a little bit more modesty, humbleness, and maybe understand that what he believes is just his opinion, and the reason his opinion is on the spotlights is because Americans tend to give too much relevance to what there superstars say, and they take advantage of that.

Yeah, I agree you should form your own opinion independent of what all these actors and artists say. I often see fans defend very ridiculous actions by some people, just because they're big fans of their work.
Anyway, this is probably best suited for another thread. I think it's interesting Leonardo Dicaprio played J. Edgar Hoover in a movie eight years ago, and now he stars in one about an investigation revolving around him. |

I was never much of a fan of movies like Goodfellas and Casino to begin with, but the best movies that De Niro and Scorsese made in my opinion were Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. I've been very disappointed with both De Niro and Scorsese in recent years. From Scorsese, Silence was alright, but I wasn't interested in The Wolf of Wall Street and both Hugo and Shutter Island were pretty terrible. From De Niro, I thought his performances were mediocre in Joy, The Irishman, and Joker. I'm going to try The Wizard of Lies. Hopefully it's better. I hope that Killers of the Flower Moon turns out well, but I have low expectations.

I personally don't mind Deniro talking politics, because, quite frankly, I agree with him especially on his dislike of Trump. It's funny how he is usually very quiet or speaks very little during interviews, but is very vocal and speaks a lot when Trump is mentioned :D
As for this movie, I am very excited to see it. |

I hate when I like mainstream movies made today, it's like they know what we are going to like. That says a lot about us. I don't think there are movies being made where everyone is hating today to love tomorrow. I think authors made more personal movies back then, took more risks, less dramatizations, more artistic, the last author I saw doing something completely out of the box was Darren's with Mother!. It's becoming something of making something appealing, it's like, the author knows that subconsciously when making something, maybe because they might depend heavily on the studios money today, I don't know, I might be seeing this wrong. Obviously every movie have people liking and disliking, but, that's not the point I'm trying to make here, they are made, today, to have an opinion being made, and I love the directors f*ck you, I don't care, this is this.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon to Release in 2023
Apple’s highly anticipated Killers of the Flower Moon from Martin Scorsese won’t be coming this Oscar season. The Western drama, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons, will instead be released in the originally intended 2023 calendar year. Written by Eric Roth and adapted from the best-selling novel Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann, the film had been originally slated for 2023 by Apple. However, discussions between the filmmaker and the studio over bumping up the film’s release to 2022 occurred after Will Smith’s actions at the Oscars earlier this year changed Apple’s release strategy for its Smith-starring slavery drama Emancipation. Scorsese is known for his arduous editing process with his frequent collaborator Thelma Schoonmaker. Despite wrapping in September 2021, the $200 million Killers of the Flower Moon won’t be ready in time for this Oscar season, according to sources. Instead, it’s now rumored to be eyeing a big 2023 festival debut at Cannes, Venice, or another event. Coming off its first best picture win for CODA, Apple still has multiple awards hopefuls in the cards for the upcoming awards season including the Sundance Film Festival winner Cha Cha Real Smooth and the animated feature Luck, plus upcoming features from star Jennifer Lawrence (Causeway), director Peter Farrelly (The Greatest Beer Run Ever) and producer Alfonso Cuarón (Raymond & Ray). There are ongoing discussions about whether and how Apple could release the Will Smith headliner Emancipation from director Antoine Fuqua. Variety reported an impending move to 2023 back in May. Early rumors have suggested the movie could be a strong contender for the streamer if released.
