The Twilight Zone Hall of Fame
10 Attachment(s)
Welcome to the Twilight Zone Hall of Fame! In case you're new to Hall of Fames and don't know how they work, here are the rules: 1) Since this Hall is for TV episodes and not feature length films, you're allowed to nominate either one or two episodes. You're allowed to nominate episodes from the 1959 series, the 1985 revival, the 2002 revival, and the 2019 revival. Also, if you choose to nominate two episodes, they don't have to be from the same version of the show. For example, your first nomination could be from the 1959 show and your second nomination could be from the 2002 show. 2) Send me your nomination(s) via Private Message. Since there's a limited pool of episodes you can choose from, I'll post the nominations at the bottom of this post as they come in to prevent people from submitting the same episode more than once. If you wish to join, let me know by November 19th. That will be the loose deadline for this thread, meaning that you'll have another week to join this thread before the deadline to join officially ends (which will be on November 26th, btw). 3) Everyone who joins must watch and review all the episodes nominated for this thread. You don't have to post a full, elaborate review in this thread for each episode, but you do need to say something about each episode (write at least a decently sized paragraph for each episode and you should be good). 4) The amount of time you have to watch and review all the episodes for this thread is approximately one week for every two episodes. I'll add a couple extra weeks to account for anyone who falls behind, but I recommend staying on schedule. Once I get a tally of everyone who's in this thread, I'll put up a deadline for when you have to finish everything by. 5) Once you finish watching and reviewing all of the nominations, PM me with a ranked list (where #1 is your favorite episode) of all the episodes nominated for this thread. The episodes will be scored based on where they ranked on everyone's lists, with the final reveal happening after everyone has submitted a list. For example, if your ballot looks like this: 1) Vertigo (1958) 2) Barry Lyndon (1975) 3) Schindler's List (1993) Vertigo would get 3 points, Barry Lyndon would get 2 points, and Schindler's List would get 1 point. The film which gets the most points wins, the film which gets the second most points will be in 2nd place, and so on. Yeah, there's so many great episodes in the show.
I had 19 potential episodes (somebody already had picked one of them)... I went with two that aren't so well known and are a bit different, yet have something in common with each other. |
Re: The Twilight Zone Hall of Fame
I'm definitely going to check out whatever episodes get nominated for this, as I've been meaning to watch more Twilight Zone for ages. I only half remember seeing episodes here and there when I was younger, and I imagine I'd appreciate them more now.

Re: The Twilight Zone Hall of Fame
I'm not familiar with any of the revivals of the show, so I stuck with the original show.

I have seen both seasons of Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone, but certainly wouldn't nominate any of those episodes. They were watchable, but not particularly good or even that memorable.

Looks fun. Never seen it in my life to be honest. Happy watching!

Did you ever see The Outer Limits (1995-2002)? I thought that was a well done sci-fi anthology series.

@gbgoodies expressed some interest in this.

I've heard of it, but I haven't seen it yet. Have you seen Tales From the Darkside, by any chance? It's hit or miss, but still worth watching.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm in. :) I just sent you a PM with one of my two nominations. I'm still deciding on my second nom. (I have it narrowed down to 5 possible choices.) |

There's a bunch of really good sci-fi themed TZ episodes in the original series. I almost went with two of them myself. I'm not familiar with the newer reincarnations of the TZ but I bet there's some good sci fi episodes there too.
