Re: What was the last DVD you bought and why?

I picked up The Greatest Story Ever Told today on blu ray while picking up groceries. I've seen it before years ago but don't remember much of it.

Terminator 2 (1991)
I have missed the theatrical version I used to own on VHS. My Directors Cut on DVD is more in depth in view of characters but much slower paced. Bought again yesterday on Blu Ray with 3 cuts to satisfy my needs.

Before Midnight (2013)

Directed by Richard Linklater

Lowest point of this otherwise very nice trilogy.

Today I picked up Lost Highway and Arsenic and Old Lace on Criterion blu ray.

Wild (2014)

Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée
Starring Reese Witherspoon

I saw it couple of years ago and found it nice. So, I've decided to order it now after seeing the very attractive discount offer.

A depressingly moving film. I bought it myself last year.

Brooklyn (2015)

Directed by John Crowley
Starring Saoirse Ronan and Jim Broadbent

I guess that's what they call a cute movie. In addition, there is a good historic value.
Worth to be in a collection.

Terrific book & terrific movie. One of Witherspoon’s best rôles IMO.

Depressing? I would say the exact opposite.

What a coincidence! I also have this movie just delivered:

Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979)

Mine is a two-disc release.

Movie rental stores are very long gone where I live. Blockbuster was the last to die.

We have no record stores & no clue if we have pawn shops.
