Worlds Best Vampire Movie?

For 22 years now I've believed that Interview with the Vampire is the best vampire movie.

It is an excellent film. Perhaps From Dusk Till Dawn should get a mention just for the surprise value if you didn't know what happens. A friend of mine saw it one day and had no idea at all, so I envy that:p.

I think I'll say Nosferatu.

The book is also one of the greatest things I've ever read!

It's good. But Interview has an epic quality that right one lacks.

The Lost Boys

Bram Stoker's Dracula (Coppola)
Gary Oldman is awesome.

Let the Right One In, Nosferatu, and Vampyr all would make a top fifteen horror list for me, with Let the Right One In as my top favorite. Still have never seen Nosferatu the Vampyre, though.

I forgot about Vampyr that's a brilliant one, too!

Bram Stoker's Dracula and Gary Oldman's performance are already mentioned and they're tied for my favorite with this fellow from Horror of Dracula:

I remember him talking about the scene where Dracula turns into a demonic half-bat half-human and that apparently in the script the heroes were supposed to rush in and find him looking normal! Oldman was insistent "They wouldn't be scared of me!" so the man-bat was invented:). I think he was right, it needed it.

Alternatively, I'd vote Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust which False Writer recommended to me.

Get it quick! I vividly remember seeing part of it at college when I was taking a message to our lecturer for Visual Culture. The scene was playing where Bruno Ganz's Harker is walking along the street by the canal, and I think it struck me then that it was like going back in time. It felt that real. Our lecturer was a fan of Nosferatu anyway but he clearly also loved this too. I recently got the Blu-ray and didn't know that Herzog had made an English and German version at the same time (I prefer the German:)).

I'm looking forward to the new version, by the director of The Witch.

Wait a second. I've seen Let The Right One In. That's a Scandinavian film.

...

I'm stickin' to my votes.

And, for those 22 years, you've been correct. :yup::up:

Let the Right One In is the first that came to mind.

Honestly though, I'm having trouble thinking of Vampire movies I actually liked!
